The tweeters sound horrible. There's some kind of resonance/distortion that makes them unlistenable. I'd return this stuff except it's too hard to uninstall the woofers at this point... I'll just have to buy another set of tweeters to replace them. They won't be Alpines!
Excellent set, I just installed them in my car and the sound is clear and crisp, Alpine continue to make great products.
The best set, if you want good sound in your car don't think twice!!!
These speakers are awesome... I just installed them, along with an older Alpine Amp, and the sound is perfect. Good bass (considering its from a 6.5" speaker), great highs, and overall incredible sound. I will continue to recommend Alpine to everyone I know - I think we can safely assume that "Tim Wilson from the Midwest" didn't hook his speakers up right or is using a really crappy amp... Trust me.. I'm very very picky about speakers and car stereo stuff and these speakers are guaranteed to satisfy (if you amp them). Enjoy.
Dang, i have gone through many speakers, Diamond Audio, Focal, And Nakamichi. These speakers are matched close to the best speakers out there. I have no regret of these speakers because it is all in the set up. TIM, i dont know what is wrong with your pair, but you should check you phases on the speakers because that could be one of the problems that you have.
My stock speakers finally blew after 96,000 miles while on a xtant amp... I bought these to replace the front speakers in my 4runner, and I would buy them again if I had the chance! Great sound, good bass, and really clean highs!
Got these to replace my stockers in my Silverado and boy do they sound good... At first I had them powered by my Headunit and they did sound good but not Component good... Then I bought a 50wattX2 Alpine 2 channel amp and boy did they come alive... Very Crisp and Clear at high volume and good bass from them... Great buy if you have the Power for them...
Very solid component set, especially for the price. Just outfitted my 2003 Montero Sport with all Alpine gear, including this set, 2 15 inch subs, a new head unit, and an 1800 watt amp. Everything rocks!
