I have had several amps before this one, and I believe it the best powered amp ever compared to boss, rf's, kenwood and etc. the boss PD- 3000 i had was rated at 1500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm. This Mtx amp is only rated at 400 RMS @ 2 ohms, and it out performed the boss amp on every time. I currently have two 12 inch Audiobahn 1500 watt subs hocked up to this amp and it beats the crap out on my car. THIS AMP IS WAY UNDER RATED. YOU GOT TO HAVE ONE.
I used to have a soundstorm F2600 pushing two audiobahn 1051Ts and then i went out and got this amp for $240 at circuit city on clearance, and a mtx 7512 12 inch sub for $260 open box, and i had them make me a custom box for $150 to match specs of the sub, i threw in the 2 year protection for 150 and two alpine typeR 6x9's in the back and two alpine typeR 6 1/2's for the front with alpine head unit. and now i have one kick a** system. pounds so hard that i have to wear ear plugs when all the way cranked. buy this now!
I just put this amp on 3 jl w3's and man does it really play these speakers it sounds like 1500 rms watts is coming out of the amp i advice everyone to get this amp
Ive got an older version of this amp and its awesome. I used to have it hooked up to a JL 12 and you could hear me comin from 4 blocks away. Gettin ready to get 3 MTX 10's.
I used to work at circuit city and bought one of these last year when we were dropping the price to clear them out as we were no longer going to carry one. Picked it up for $175 I belive. Currently im running a set of mtx tx6001 components with rainbow crossovers. This amp is great, no problems, easy access to adjustments etc and powers the hell out of the components.
This amp is nice, it looks great sounds alright. It's not very tight "crisp" bass but it gets pretty loud. It does like power though. VERY power hungry if you're at all curious as i know i am it's three 35 amp fuses for 105 total with potential of 1500 watts of power. Personally i think its inificient in converting the power though and that is the only reason it has such a high fuse rating. I previously had the rockford 250.2 it's a very good amp powered my subs well but this mtx pushes them to and past their limits on some songs. with the rockford i hit 139.2db and this one i'd say is probably close to 142 or so i have not had it metered yet but it's a good amp. Great buy for this price! If you're wondering a have 2 pioneer TS- W1207S4 in a custom box i made. Oh yes the features are wow... endless the bass knob is picky though and has to have one of the filters on the amp on to work. Good Amp
