Sub sounds amazing. In a sealed box it hits every note with perfect accuracy but still has SPL. In a ported box it still has amazing SQ and incredible SPL. Definatly a sub for anyone serious about car audio who wants to hear and FEEL every note!
i have 2 12 jl audio ported and it hit hard with a jl audio 1000. Im happy with the sound and spl. In the future i will get 2 12w7 with 2 jl 1000.
I had 2 10w3 that i thought hit hard, let me tell you AWESOME. These 2 12's are all I need.

My boy has four 12's in his Honda Civic that are 500 RMS each. I have one W6v2 in the back of a Toyota Rav 4 and I am twice as loud as he is. I completely overpower his system like there is no competition. The W6 isn't only louder than 4 12's, it also keeps the clarity and SQ when you really crank it. His Honda sounds loud, but not clear. Best sub I've ever bought, totally worth every last penny. The only thing better than this sub is two of them.- Alexis
my friend has 4 kicker comp. vr 15s in the back on his tundra.. i had (they got jacked) 3 of these 12s in the back of a maxima and they banged way harder than his. and sounded better.
These subs are GREAT!!! The JL 12w6v2 Hit sooo hard in the back of my explorer and sound even better. I have them in a subzone dual vented enclosure and its even louder and greater. With my 1000 jl amp to power them strait up.

All I have to say about these subs are WOW!!! I have a Kicker 1200.1 running two of these W6v2's and they take the power wonderfully!!! I'll tell you one thing, I've had Diamond, Rockford, and Kicker subs in the past and NOTHING can touch these subs!!!! NOTHING!!!!! They are worth every penny!!!!
This sub is insane. I have a friend who just put a 12" (made by a different company) into his car, and he thought that was loud. I asked him if he wanted to listen to the same CD in my car. When I turned it on his eyes got really big, and the sub level on my amp was a -6. At +6 he couldn't stand it anymore - he had to know what and how many I had in the trunk. His guess was four twelves. You should have seen his face when I popped the trunk.
I put 4 of these bad boys in the trunk of my santa fe powered by 2 jl 1000/1 amps. The SPL it produced made me change the seals on my windshield twice!!! Talk about pressure huh! Not to mention the sound quality is phenominal compared to the L7's i used to have. Damn!!!

I got 2 12w6v2 powered by a ppi 1400 watt amp, and they hit so hard my system blew away another vehicle with 3 15's by 15db. Metered at 152.3 db. What else can I say...besides when you pop your trunk..JL AUDIO.. Is a done deal...
Get a pair of these and a pair of JL 500/1 and listen to music the way it is ment to be heard. You won't find a better price for these then OCS.
this sub woofer is amazing i have one in my F-150 and i turned the headunit up to almost half and the windows were flexing i was like omg, and then when i put my windows down so they wouldnt break my neighbor came out and was screamin at me, i was like haha, hes in for a lot more bass than that just little bit, well i recommend this sub for anyone who wants to have the best system on their block unless someone on their block has a W7 then they are right behind them well definately get this if you want to be looked at when you are driving down the road and you want your firends to know your at their house with out ringing the door bell or callin them haha and OCS has the cheapest price so definatley get it from here and they also throw in free shipping so after readin this long pursuasion to buy this subwoofer i hope you do if not then your system will suck peace
i got two of these 12's hooked up by a JL dealer to a PG800wat amp in a ported box, in a monte carlo. and let me tell you about some serious bass. i got pulled over the very next day.ppl giving me the finger and all kinds of good stuff. i would never buy anything but JL to give my car that {WANG}.
i have 3 12" w6v2 wired to a Rockford Fosgate 1500BD wow! The only problem is that they are in a convertable. Everyone tells me its the best sounding convertable around. Back window keeps breakin must upgrade a plexiglass window. two of them are in my trunk with ported box and one custom fitted in my back seat ported as well. Everybody hears me 2, or 3 blocks away, Great Job JL Audio.
for these subs to be the w7's lil bro they sound good. ive got a passat and two of these in a custom ported box the bass hits and the sq is great the spl is great too. i measured it and it got to 142 db. im pushing 500 watts a piece and they play with minimal if any distortion. the chosen one would recommend these.
these subs are crazy i have 2 in a jl enclosure with 2 1500 watt amps. these subs are so loud their ridiculous i have the cd player set at -5 and its still to much to handle. great subwoofers a little expensive but you get what you pay for you wont be disappointed
I baught two of these 12w6v2s and im running them with a concept cc-2400d amp with 1200 rms each sub and they are rediculous. Recently i went through a drivethrough at dunkin donuts and the guy thought i was running 4 15's. I literally cannot drink anyhting when they are cranking, you're throught seizes up and u feel like you are going to puke. PS. they are in sealed encloser with 1.13cuft each
OMG! I used to have 2 12" Xplods, now I own 1 12W6v2 in a sealed enclosure powered by a JL 500/1. It sounds amazing even in a sealed it has massive SPL, enough to make my clothes ripple outside my car. Do yourself a favor and by the optional grille to protect your investment.

I have heard alot of subs over the years and let me tell you, for the money (no that they are cheap), it is impossible to beat these. Alot of people will even tell you they sound better then the w7's. If you want bass with amazing sound quailty and the ability to hit every note precicely, this is the sub for you. Guaranteed you will hear bass notes you didnt know existed in the song.

This is an amazing woofer, i upgraded from W3's and these W6's are simply perfect. They are the tightest, hardest hitting woofers i've ever had. A buddy of mine is a JL hater and he admitted that these are genious. If you want some serious car audio that pleases you and everyone within 3 or 4 blocks... W6's
I am running 4 of these off of 2 100/1's and I hit a 148.8 with a TL. This is in a blowthrough in a truck. Just imagine them in your car. They sound better then the w7 and if you go with 2 of these insted of 1 w7 you will be louder and sound better. Trust me these are the best subs I have ever had the privlage of owning. This includes 2 12 w7's.
I have one of these in a dodge neon. It hits really hard. It also has amazing SQ. You can feel the bass when it hits. really nice. But for me it isn't loud enough. I am going to have to buy another one . I hav it hooked up to a 500/1 jl amp.
I have never heard a speaker hit so hard before, especially the clearity of it so if anyone wants to by the speaker go ahead, w7 is the next hitting one, it hits as hard as 2 of the speakers of w6 and one of w7
I love this sub... I have one 12 W6 in a bandpass box(dont ask me why thats how the place made it) and it slaps pretty good... Im running an Alpine MRD-M605 amp and i like the result... im thinkin about gettin another JL or buyin my friends 2 L7's but im not sure which to do... ps: these subs are awsome!!
This sub is awesome. I have one hooked up to a 600 watt alpine in a slot ported enclosure built to jl specs. This is the best sounding sub I have ever owned. It will play rock and country with perfect sq and still has the ability to drop 135db at the dash at 45hz. I can't imagine what the w7 is like.
Look These are tha best subs all around... Besides the W7... I have two of these subs in a expedition in a ported box with 2 JL 500/1 mono amp. I have the loudest system ive ever herd in my life its amazing Nothing can touch it ive gotten to the point i dont even try to make other people systems look bad i dont even bother with putting up the volume on my head unit becuase i dont want to embaress them in front of there girl friend or something. Its worth every penny so clear you hear and feel every note. If you dont beleive me. go hear it for your self.
I have 2 12" JL W6's and 2 JL 500/1's in my car. Out of all the systems I've heard JL is the loudest. I've won a bass competition with only the set up I have here. They said i was probily hitting in the low 150's.
At first, they sounded waaaay too quiet, but as I found out, they were hooked up wrong. Im running a Soundstream 700 watt amp and a monster cap with a sealed box and these things sound awesome. I can't turn them up loud enough to really hit hard for fear of loosing my hearing permenantly, but they are so clear that it doesn't matter if they hit hard or not. I am now running them in parallel with my amp bridged to 1400W and they blew my box open. Im going to build a new custom box and i'll let you guys know.
this is the greatest buy for the money...jl makes some killer products but this one simply takes it. i got 4 of them in my jeep and i always set off car alarms in parking lots.

this sub does play bass notes you never thougt existed. I,am running one12w6v4 off a 500/1. My only complaint is a extemely loud levels it tends to make poping noices other than that it sounds perfect. as good as a alpine type x

get these. i have 2 W6's with a 1600 watt lanzar amp. prefect. the only thing is that my Magnum is getting torn apart by the bass. i have to take it in the get full dynamat. even with all the trunk space. the thing will blow you away. love them

I reserched subs for 2 months and every time I seen anything on the 12w6 it talked about the awsome sq and spl so I bought 2 in a jl sealed prowedge box and hooked them up 2 a pr1000 memphis amp @ 1ohm omg these things are truly awesome they sound good at low levels with any kind of music from rap to country or you can turn up the volume and the bass is nasty loud when i turn it up you cannot breath or take or drink and they do not destort soon i am going to put them in a ported box they will be the end of my hearing if your looking for loud low bass that sounds good @ any level look no more buy these you will not be sorry, ps.get a good cap a yellow top optima battery and good mids and highs you will need them
if ur looking for name recognition, and of course some serious knock, the dub6 is perfect for you. i have ONE in the trunk of my 04 Galant and my rear view mirrow needs to be readjusted every two minutes. you'll set off car alarms, rattle ur chest, and with the right amp you might even cause an earthquake. sound quality is excellent, but this sub is a beast and does require A LOT OF POWER!! don't expect to power this with a cheap amp like pyramid or something. make sure you can afford an amp to go with this guy, if not, get a DUB1 or DUB3

jl audio is definetly the cadillac of sound. i have 2 of these in my Ram with my own custom built sealed enclosure. Im running them with a jl 500/1 amp and it definetly gets the job done. with these subs you WILL stand above everybody else, no questions asked.

i have 2 of these in my scion, i have put them through the ringer for the past 3 years, 3 different boxes, and i must say they still hit hard and still hurt my ears, they pop after all my abuse but they still take my abuse. i will never buy another sub again. JL audio 139.7 in a scion Xb, after 3 years of abuse,,, maybe i will try the w7. im curious to see if there is a difference.

I have ran this sub for the past 8 years. I recently bought 3 of the new 12W6v2 series. I put a monster amp on them and they hit extremely hard. The amp that I am using is a Roc. Fosgate TS20001 bd. Its a very powerful high current amp. I do think it might be time to step up to the W7 with this much power from this amp.

I have two of these subs in a ported box powered by a JL1000/1 class d mono amp in my explorer. They hit considerably hard. Sound quality is excellent. I was skeptical at first. Didnt know if the product was worth the price. I had to upgrade my components to 6inch 2-way focals to keep up with these beasts. I can only imagine what the 12w7 sounds like. I upgrading to those in May. JL is one of the best.
i have two of these in a built box...(not exactly to JL specs, but better than a general box)in the back of a 93 honda accord coupe. hooked to a punch 800... Ive heard i could put the JL 1000/1 on em but im saving that for my new system(2 w7s,1000/1 on each, e6450 on 6 4way in_car speakers...and yes in the above mentioned car) well anyway these subs are among the best ive heard and thats an unbiased opinion. my cuz has 2 L5's on a kicker 1500 monoblock and we are still in the same ball park. he is louder but im not too far from him. if you are serious about ur system and looking for long-term durability as well as superior sound quality bust the piggy bank open and go with JL
the best sub that money can buy(besides the w7) it hits loud and clean. i built a box to JL specs and this thing rocks. its also nice how it does not drain a lot of power.
ok ive owned almost every model jl has except the w7 in the past i had the 12jlw6v1 those hit hard and deep ive had w1v2 12" and those were a nice tight hit with minimal amount of power i was just recently running 2 12"w3v3 subs w/jl 500/1 amp and those were very loud subs almost as loud as these w6v2's but not nearly as deep ok my only problem i have with these subs is that at very high volume they pop and it scares me a lot cuz im only pushin' them with my (1)jl500/1 amp so its about 250 watts rms per sub i dont know maybe the voice coil is still getting looses and breaking in but overall these subs are very deep and solid when the bass hits its like it comes right at you in your entire body but downside is im practically deaf now lol and i need to get more dynamat for car cuz these subs can and will rattle everything i mean i got them in a 96 mustang coupe and they are VERY loud
love this sub, i own an audi a8 and it is perfect. it is absolutely spot on on all bass notes. not the spl powerhouse you dream of but if you enjoy music it will make it sound how it was meant to be. not to say it isnt powerful, but the clarity really caught my ear. if you want spl go w7 or audiobahn imortal. if you are an audiophile go w6v2. a jl 500/1 will power it nicely

Here are specs, 2006 Trailblazer ext, Kenwood DPX 503 deck, 4 jl audio tweeters, 2 jl w6v2 and a jl audio gmax. Let me tell you. I am so amazed with these subs. I have these subs in a regular box and I have to tell you I am amazed. My amp is not turned up at all and these subs rattel my whole truck. From the front to the back. Hell even on the interstate I can feel the the beat slowing down my truck. It feels like it is beating the groung instead of my truck. I cant wait to see what they are going to to do in the JL audio prowedge box and the amp turned up. If you want clean beat and good music. Jl is the way to go.
Pauls obviously a moron for hooking these up to a 2400 watt amp, theyre not made to take more than 550 watts rms each that means a 1200 watt amp would be the highest you'd probably want to go with these subs. I got two hoocked up to a JL 1000v1 amp and they knock rediculously hard.
i have 2 w6s and had them in a friends blazer with a 1000watt memphis mono amp it was half up and was prolly the hardest hittin in town im 16 and glad i got the opertunity to get these jls im going to get 500/1 jl amp soon and ready to see wat it sounds

got 7 of these customly installed and fabricated in a 2001 cobra with no back seats cuz 4 dub sixs are mounted there in fiber glass enclosure with the other 3 in trunk in same box its wayyy too loud and puts every set up to SHAME have 9 loud music tickets and must wear ear muffs when its cranked up!im using 3 jl 1000/1 amps and 1 jl 500/1 amp with 2 jl 300/4amps to power my focal door spkrs and tweeters using 2 extra battery optima yellow in my spare tire location with stinger high output alternator and 4 bat caps and my battery still moves a little when i play bass testers rap ect very loud
Have this sub in a 2.0ft^3 ported tuned to 30hz. JL recommends 1.5ft^3 tuned to 32hz, but i decided to try my own way out. This sub plays really low, very well! Even that bass i can't really hear but everything is shaking!! Have it set up in my room powered by a US Amps Xterminator 4000D which rated at about 500rms at 2ohms. GREAT SUB.
Ive owned, tested, and research almost every audio company known to man, I love JL they are a quality company, aren't exactly a value company... but then again if you have ever heard of "You get What pay for" that's the case here the 12W6v2D4 has good knock(NOT A SPL WOOFER)and at the same time has crisp incredible quality Sound, good quality build, nice clean looking... no flash straight performance. The Best Sub ive every heard for the person that wants something in between a Morel Ultimo and a Digital Deign Z Series

I have 2 JL w6's in a 2000 Jimmy,I have them in a vented box hooked up to a Niche 2500D,and I've had it that way for about 5 years now and no problems,with popping or have i blown them. It's all in the way you treat them can't over load your subs like you can't over load your amp,but all in all these things are crazy my set up makes it hard to take deep breaths and i've owned almost every sub JL has produced in the past 12 years ,by far these are the best.but not to fawned of the amps every one i had burnt up right after the warrenty was up, but Thank JL for the subs...
i have one of these in my tahoe, powered by a 500 watt rockford fosgate, and i have been very happy. It is in a small sealed box, and even though the box is a lot smaller than what JL recommends, i have been very happy. I can't believe it is just one speaker back there. Head and shoulders above the Infinity Kappa Perfect VQ i used to have, which quit working about 2 months after the warranty ran out. I listen to mostly rock music and the sound quality is great, especially after i broke it in for about a week. I have had it for about 3 months, and would definatly recommend. Ill probably never buy another brand of sub

I have 2 of these in my 2003 Ram QC in a custom fiberglass box. Amp is a JL Audio 1000/v . SQ is amazing at high volume and it hits really hard. Totally recommend these! Now if they just made some decent glue for my rear-view mirror.
I have 2 W6v2's in a 2001 Toyota Celica. Even though they are hooked up to a cheap audiopipe amp I have had to replace the seal in my back window 3 times and I will have to do it again soon. Other than the fact that they only lasted me 4 years I would recomend these speakers to anyone who wants some serious sound.
