These speakers, although a little spendy, are well worth the price. The highs are unbelievably crisp and smooth. The crossover gives you the ability to change the power output to the tweeter from flat to +6db and the tweeters can be mounted seperately or coaxially giving you unparalleled versatility. Overall, the frequency response is almost even from 100hz-20khz. I definetly recommend buying these speakers for the front of your sound system. If you don't already have some, buy Dynamat to stiffen the doors.
These speakers are great. The sound quality is excellent. I've got a pair of these powered by a JL Audio 300/4 (each @ 75, and my sub getting 150), and they crank, but don't loose anything as the volume level rises. More than my ears can take. I would like to get another pair for the back, but will have to save some $$$ first.
these are the best components for your $! the sound quailty is awesome. the midrange sound does not lose any quality as you turn up the volume. spend the money and get a good amp that has solid rms power, like the jl audio 300/4. get ready to turn down your bass and treble levels
I have 4 components (2 full pairs) of MB Quarts and I wouldnt settle for anything else. crisp highs and smooth bass. look for a good clean amp to push them.
These speakers , sound well balance , need of course a add woofer RCE 164 , and a good quality amplifier for 2 ohms, with a lot of amps . Not easy to found something so good .
I learned five years ago that you can put a whole lot of power to MB Quarts and they don't hesistate to provide clean sound. I am running two sets of these off of a Pioneer 600 Watt amp and I am only pushing them at half power, any louder and the NYPD pulls you over. Wanted something to put in my company car, and now every other engineer I work with is asking about these. One person commented that my car sounded better than a hi-end home theater system he just spent $15,000 on. You can't ever go wrong with MB Quart component sets, they outperform other component sets three to four times the price. If you look at almost every other component speakers in this price range, you will see that you cannot bi-amp them, run one channel to the tweeters, and the other to the mid-bass. MB Quart allows you to not only bi-amp them, but you have three different settings on the tweeter gain, 0db,-3db,-6db. Awesome product good for making any person's system sound like it cost five times than whay you paid for.
I had these speakers in my '94 accord amp'd to a Fosgate power series amplifier. The sounds that these components produced were unbelievably outstanding. I heard notes and sounds in songs I have never heard before... simply amazing!
pretty much everyone is right about these speakers, truly amazing sound quality with extremely low distortion even at max power on my pioneer 600w max amp, great highs and the install flexability is a great feature that i wish more manufacturers would adopt, i have them installed with the tweeter mounted in the woofer, which made the install very easy, but still has the sound of a component speaker set, would reccommend to everyone
I just bought these to replace my Audiobahn Dub Audio 6.5 inch comps in my camry. All that really needs to be said is "Holy $hit" what a huge differance quaility makes. My system used to sound ok, but now people get in my car and are speachless at the quality of music in my car. When running on a Rockford 300/2 amp at 75 watts RMS I can go full volume and not have the highs get harsh as is expected of a hard tweeter. Sounds great, buy some.
