Excellent sound quality as a stand alone piece, but really takes it a step above and beyond anything I've seen or heard ever when paired with the DEQ-P9 processor. The build quality is tops with a copper chassis and a "basic" look with only a knob and a couple buttons and a great display. The DEX-P9 does lack features as a stand alone unit, but it does have all the important features and adjustments needed which helps in its sound quality. By not adding too many unused/useless features lets the DEX-P9 focus on the important stuff... sound quality. The DEX-P9 also has the ability to control many external devises such as a cd changer, XM satellite, TV tuner, and with the purchase of an IP-BUS-RCA connector you can connect anything with RCA jacks as an auxilary source such as a portable MP3 player. This is a rock solid unit and worth every penny to anyone looking for the highest in high-end sound, even without the external processor.
