This system is great for people who do not want to worry about spending to much money for a CD player but yet still want the sets of RCA outputs. I have problems with the security feature on this unit though. Dont let that discourage you the overall buy is a great choice.
Kenwood has outdone themselves. I have owned many other kenwood products, but now they have improved the quality, and appearance. i Love the fact that one could turn off the internal amp for so the better quality goes to the RCAs. And for the security thing, one could turn it off. Love this headunit i'll probably keep it for a long time.
this is good hu all the features you get at this price is unbeatable i was a kenwood fan for many years never had much luck with them i then switched to alpine what i difference i will say this is the first kenwood hu that doesn't skip all the others did this a good hu but not great the power of this hu is where it falls short this is the first kenwood i've purchased since switching to alpine and kenwood has improved tons just needs more power i will be purchasing an alpine to replace this if you're on budget this hu ca'nt be beat recommended yes.
Love this cd player, probobly the best one i've had for the price. Hard to see in the sun though. Must be cooler than i thought cause it got stollen within a month. I would recomend this for everyone.
After chucking aside my old Sony headunit (Sony CDX-F7000, don't ever buy), I decided to get a Kenwood after being happy with an amp I'm using from them. This headunit absolutely delivers as far as sound quality and laser reading capabilities. It plays badly scratched CDs without any fuss. I used to have problems with the bass in my front speakers. I want at least some bass from them, but my old Sony just made them move a lot, but not produce bass. This unit pushes them smooth and puts out nice bass from unamplified MB Quart Discus coaxials. The highs from this unit are a stark contrast to the junk tin can rattling sound that the old Sony put through the tweeters. The internal crossover is really nice, you can select from 80 Hz all the way to 180 Hz independently for front, rear and sub. I still don't understand the EQ, honestly. But aside from some ergonomics issues in the menu system, I say the display isn't bad. The face looks much cooler than it does in the picture, its all black chrome with machined aluminum switchgear. Match up all this to the price of the headunit and you have a really great piece of electronic art. Clear, sparkly sound, nice looks, 4 volt preouts, and a butt kicking price tag make this a great headunit.
Excellent Headunit. 3 Preamps, Mp3 capabilites, and an easy to use interface make this an excellent value. Couple this headunit with the right speakers and you'll wonder what else in life you've been missing.
I have owned this product for about 3 weeks now and it improved my sound quality and clarity with the pre-amp outputs. Its the second kenwood i have owned. The features are good and the quality.
The features are good for this unit but the manual is horrible. Setting just the simplest things like the clock per the manuals instructions is an excercise in frustration. The tuner is weak and I get worse reception than my OEM. The I-pod interface resets all your settings on your I-pod when you disconnect.
For the price it has to be just about the best cd player i've seen. The sound control is great, and system expansion capabilities will meet all your needs. There's better but not in this price range.
