Product Reviews For Pioneer FH-P4200MP

  • Great headunit! Lots of features for more sound control. Eq is so much better than the usual three band and the highpass filters make a multiamp system sound so much cleaner. This is a must have for double din locations.

  • This deck is very slick looking and works like a champ! The DSP and 6 band EQ take the cake! (YEP! 6 BAND EQ! NOT JUST PRESETS!) I also found the HP filters for the front and LP filters for pre-outs very helpful in setting up my system for balanced, full sound.

  • nice unit but didn't fit perfectly in my double din 05 frontier's slot. a little gap expose in the bottom even with the cover template installed. either the slot was a little oversized or this unit is not exactly quite double din measurement. i don't have an amp installed but the unit still has a lot of power to drive the factory speakers. however the powerful sound now is a little 'floating' and i can't tune it to the 'rich and crispy' sounds as i wanted. ways too many features which are not very intuitive to get to. have to navigate thru a bunch of sequences before can do something as simple as pausing the cd or increasing the bass/trebble. even with the constrast turned up hight, it still very hard to see the display during daylight. plays mp3 and wma cd's well. with wma, you'd have to burn the cd using windows media player and set the cd setting to 'HightMAT'. i have about 320 songs burned in wma all on 1 cd!! the track counter only goes up to 99 but it'll reset to 01 and up when skipping the tracks to higher number than 99. the cd scan feature which plays the first 10 section of each track doesn't work on my wma cd. it only scan the first track then stop to play this track. quite easy to mistakenly press the location on the small dial to change track (3 o'clock position) vs disc (12 o'clock position). the volume dial is locate on the right instead of the left, makes it harder to reach.

  • I would have to say...the sound shaping capabilities of this unit are awesome! There isn't anything you can't do with this unit. It plays all formats and still has an aux input if you wish to play something else! This unit really looks good in my '06 Azera and the HPF for the front and rear speakers definitely allow my sounds to be crisp and clear! Only downside, this unit packs a lot of voltage and you hear it when the unit powers off with a pop through the speakers. I have to install a capacitor on the power line to eliminate it. Also, like one person said...even with the screen contrast all the way up... It's difficult to see the display in bright sun. Other than that...hands down, one of the best head units I've owned.

  • Very good value for my money. I purchased one to repalace the stereo that came with my 2000 Corolla. It fitted perfectly and the sound is great. It is superior to the stereo that came with my new 2008 Corolla. Perhahs if the two were the same size I would make a switch.

  • Bought this for my 97 Towncar...had to do some modifications with the duct work behind the dash to fit..the factory radio tapers down in the back so it is not a true double din from front to back...looks very nice and plays well...will sound better when I get some new speakers...this place has the best prices and selection anywhere on line and the free shipping is another plus
