Product Reviews For MTX TA3401

  • I got this amp from circuitcity, before I knew about onlinecarstereo. It's serious! I had it powering two kicker 10" comps, and they didn't do the amp justice (too much power for them) so i got a Jensen 12" dual sealedbandpass box 400rms and the amp stiLL overpowered them when set to 2ohm config (speaker sounds distorted when amp was set to high levels). When this amp is just set at half mass it performs! Also the lighting effects are nice, it can illuminate the back seat to the beat of the music.

  • I've got this amp running a 12in. Kicker CompVR in a single cab Silverado with a 1.75cu ported box and it sets off alarms like crazy. The gain is set at 1/2 'cause if I turn it up anymore it overpowers the sub. I'm thinking of switching to a CompVX. Keeps cool even after running for 2 or 3 hours. Kind of pricey but you can't put a $$$ on quality.

  • i got mine pushing two jl audio 10 " w-1 subs in a sealed box and its only turned up about half way cause any more causes my subs to cut out. it blew every series of memphis 10" sub they make, so i switched to the jl. its a monster!

  • For the price here this is a pretty good amp. mines doing 483 at 2 Ohms and all i can say is wow i have it on an Audiobahn 12" DVC AW1200N and it will rock the sub to the max. says the sub takes 700 RMS but this amp pushes it awsome buy you won't be disappointed. and the sq is good for a low priced amp awsome buy go get one, or two.

  • Wow this amp lived up to the MTX legacy I have it running a single P1 10 have to keep the amp turned down so I don't kill the P1 As soon as the new JL 10W0's hit I'll get to see what this baby can really do But all in all sweet amp for a sweet price can't go wrong

  • I have had this amp for 3 years and it has never failed. I was running a single MTX 5500 10" in a Road Thunder box and that was really loud. I am running an MTX 8500 10" Super woofer in a custom box now and it's insanely loud. People can't believe that is what's back there till I open the hatch.

  • I purchased this amp about 5 years ago at a Circuit City, in Kansas City Mo. retail at the time $329. Its birth sheet stated 275 Watts @4ohm and 575 watts @2ohm. its rated as a 300watt amp.hahah. I have totally abused it never failed. I have blown subs from rockford fosgate p1 and p2s, as well as the jokes from boss audio and hifonics allways in pairs in a 2ohm load. mtx and extant really made a major hit with this design. I have gotten over 142dbs in comp with 2 10s and this amp. Was thinking about upgrading then the bass hits and I ask myself why would I need to. Absublutly love this beast.
