Product Reviews For Kenwood KSC-SW1

  • Installed is a bass starved F150 extended cab. Fit nicely behind driver's seat and can easily slide under driver's seat if need to move out of the way. Sound was a vast improvement. Not the very best bass I've heard, but well worth the $$. made a significant difference. I used the preamp (rca) inputs, but can also use speaker level. Good product!

  • Outstanding product for truck owners. Great sound if you are not looking for deep heavy bass. Great for rock, house, pop, country, jazz, you name it. Rap is not an option with this one. Excellent product otherwise.

  • Wow. Very satisfied with performance. This unit gave me the oomph I've been waiting way too long for. When my kid got the giant box in the trunk and the massive amp, I was a little jealous because I'm the original rocker in this family. But I need trunk space and besides that, I usually sit inside the car and want my music to stay in there with me. The remote is cute for demonstrating but I think I'll set it and forget it. The speaker level inputs are what steered me to the KSC-SW1. My factory unit had no RCA terminals. The fact that it would fit so neatly under the passenger seat was the deal sealer. Tips for other installers doing the speaker input wiring thing - go to Radio Shack and get a pack of crimp on terminals to match the ones that come with the Kenwood kit. The passenger seat floor bolts make an excellent ground source. The primary power line needs to be directly connected to the positive battery terminal. If you don't have a stereo with a power antennae wire, and you see a nightmare of wires under the dash and around the fuse box, tap the cigarette lighter wire and add a switch so the amp can be turned off. Warning - Careful with that gas pedal! Your foot gets heavy when the sound gets good.

  • Installed in 2003 Explorer Sport Trac, fits perfectly in storage area behind driver side rear seat. Sound is perfect for cabin size at less than half volumn. I was looking at buliding my own box for under rear seat, but cost with seperate amp and materials was double the cost of this and I can fold rear seat down without removing sub

  • Great in my 1990 300zx. Mounting options were a plus. Mind is suspended upside down to use the hatchback floor for resonance. Had a Bazooka tube (8inch powered) my son said now I have a boom before I had a boop. Guest that saids it all.

  • Not bad at all. This unit won't blow you out of the vehicle, but it sounds great. The installs not to tough, a little car stereo knowledge dosen't hurt. Great unit for the size, takes up very little room. The controls are simple, the mounting kit(velcro) for the controls could have been better. Over all this little thing rocks
