In the 80’s Nakamichi was indistinguishable. The name alone caused audiophiles to stop and enjoy the simple design and the exceptional sound. To this day the Dragon is a wonder of the world. Upper level management shifts and product revamping had me pondering on whether the SP’s would live up to the Nak name. After an intense listening session, I can say that the Nakamichi name still means business. The components are smooth, precise and roll off is right where it should be. If you are wanting to build an audiophile system you will not be disappointed with these. The K. I.S.S. method still applies. Keep It Simple Stupid, which they have.
Money spent on the drivers and crossovers not the packaging and marketing. Sounds lush driven off a Nak cd400 and Mission amplifer, smooth sound, loads of punch. Crossovers can be tailered to suit your car, with off axis and a +/- 3DB cut or gain, they are also bi-wireable for active set ups. My best in car speakers to date.
