we'll I have a boss gt riot series 2500 watt amplfier in my 89 oldsmobile and unfortunally, I have the type of box for 2 pioneer 306 subs in a sealed box witch makes the amp not perform the way its supose to.The amp sounds better when you havr subs in a ported box which I do not have, but I'm surely going to get me a ported box so my amp canperform the way its supose to.Overall its a pretty good amp if you like boss audio.''
Had two of these amps powering two alpine type-x 12's and they only lasted 9 weeks before both were shot. Cannot power speakers that are very strong. would not reccomend for people with bad ass systems.
The amp is ok its best use is for 12s its really good for the money the one thing that bring it down is that it will over heat if you play it for about 30 mins non stop but other than that its RAW.
this is a good amp. i have it powering 4 12 inch pioneer premier subs and i hit HARD!!!!!! 1500 watts rms for this price is unbeatable. plenty of power. my amp does not blow or heat up quick as others claim. you HAVE to wire your subs to correct impedance or like any other amp you will blow it. ROOKIES!!LOL
I've worked on the older version of this amp powering 4 DVC-4 ohm 12" Pioneer subwoofers (the amp sees a 2 Ohm load-ser/par wiring)...does infact deliver good power....but it overheats way too fast....makes no sense pushing it because after a half hour it usually shuts down.... I think adding a small computer fan and removing the back panel for improved ventilation should help the problem....but I can’t be bothered... I like Boss products...they usually deliver outstanding quality for the price…..but this (older version) isn't one of their better amps!
