  • If I want a lot of bass, great quality, and a good price, which one of theses should I buy.... One 15" MTX T9500 or One 15" Kicker L7(06)?

  • this is a nice sub, but if you plan to run it properly you will need a lot of space. roughly 5-5.5 cubic feet of ait space. and a large slot port. if you plan to put this in a small box.... DONT it will not sound like it should and you will get no quality sound. If you have a small space, as much as i hate this styled box, USE A SEALED BOX. it wont be as loud but it will sound a lot better. TRUST ME i have installed about 13 of these in everything from trail blazers to an s-10. I also recomend the directed D2500 amp for this sub. It gives a very good amount of power for a very reasonable price. And for anyone who is looking to install their own and doesnt know much about them.. dont just crank the gain. Distortion ruins subs way faster than opverpowering, so tune your amp to a level where is sounds clean but may not be as loud. Youll thank yourself in the long run.

  • I got two of these wired for 1 ohm to a hifonics bxi2000d and they hit hard, too hard. they shake my suv something serious. I cannot listen to it at full volume the pressure is just to much. 3.5 cu, ported. Dims from kicker tech. support.

  • I have two of these in a 1999 chevy blazer. I'm pushing them with an Orion 2500D in a ported box of 10.6 cu ft tuned 37 hz and this thing bumps. I had it metered in a termlab two weeks ago and I did 149.56 decibels. Absolutely the best bang for the buck

  • i just bought one of these for my truck and man this thing bangs. i got it hooked up to a hifionic amp about 1600w. I use to have a 3000w premier subwoofer and i burnt it out, so i upgraded to a l7 and there is a huge difference. the L7 sets of car alarms!!!just one!

  • This is an excellent subwoofer. I prefferr this over the MTX because of the cone area. The kicker square subs are larger in cone area which move more air, there for bass is made from this effect. However, if you want sound quality, you should go with a sealed box or go with a smaller sub size to compensate for the slower moving larger cone. If you want the highest bass level, go with the bigger cone size. Basic rule, 12" square equals to a 15" round subwoofer in equal wattage and db ratings.

  • Very very loud. i have one wired to 2 ohm in my 92 s10 extended cab. i am powering it with a mcd1500.1 memphis amp. I have tried it in 3 different boxes, a cubic foot sealed box, a 3 cubic foot sealed box, and now currently a 4.5 cubic foot ported box. and let me say that ported is the way to go. sq could be better but its still freakin amazingly loud so who cares?
