nice pre-amp for the price. The main nob is bit uncomfortable when turning it up or down. Overall a nine out of ten.
This is a really good product with alot of features. You can adjust each of its four bands to whatever frequency you like (within a certain range of course). 10V RMS output and 18dB boost on each band cant really change how your system sounds. The only downside is that the main volume knob touches the body every now and then while turning.
Hate to sound negative but Im not sure I like it. You get crisp highs and good mid's but I like to be able to adjust my mids separate from my highs. With this system all outputs operate off the same frequency. I think its better to buy a crossover and run a separate eq through it. I get little frequency change when adjusting the the crossover in the eq, in fact some I cant tell any difference. I do however like the sub controls it offers a wide frequency range witch is very handy.
Great product! When used wth a x-over you get to see how this product really works. Cleans up entire systems sound. helps tune systems to different music. I noticed a big difference in my 7000 watt system. Pre-out voltage very relible. Peak indcator very helpful in eliminating clipping. Sub volume easy to use. Only disadvantage is that there is only one input. So you can't have directional sound with movies.
A definite sound improvement over the twenty nine cent equalizers my friends and I had as teenagers. By night it looks great all lit up with the matching red buttons of my JVC head unit, but by day I think the recessed front panel around the knobs seems to beg for some kind of refinement. My only genuine complaint would be the high volume static it makes when you adjust the volume during the cold winter months, but here again Soundstream's customer service said that they would be happy to fix it if I rip it all out again and mail it back to them. Overall I'd have to say the design suits me perfectly because I really only want to make quick, dash mounted, song-to-song adjustments by ear while watching the road for black ice and white tails.
