I bought these to replace my factory 6x9's in the rear deck of my '03 cavalier. Alpine CDA-9842 head unti running them. Sound good overall, can get a bit muttled at higher volumes when I have bass set at +4 out of ten. Have cranked them with bass at 0 and as a midrange alone they sound spectacular. Would recommend using a sub with these if you want bass at high volumes.
has very good highs and mid and ok bass response but if you got subs they sound good even at high volumes they dont distort unless i have the bass almost all the way up
These speakers are good if you want to replace your factory speakers. when I did it I’m improved my sq a lot just with the 6x9's I haven't replaced the front one's yet but I’m planning on it. Overall good product if you want to imporve your sq.
I just put 4 of these in my 71 monte carlo and they sound great. The bass gets a little distorted at high levels but sound quality is great and it will hit low bass better. I can shake my car with just these 4 speakers. I would highly recommend these.
using just two of these along with two 5 by 7 alpines and one 10 alpine inch sub in a sealed box along with a couple of alpine amps driven by a Jensen head unit in my Grand Marquise makes listining to God Smack a religiuous experance. I have yet to turn it all the way up cause anything more than about 60 out of 100 on the head unit kind of hurts the ears. Couldn't be happier
Very good speakers, i like the deep sound they make, very good price.
This review is for comparison against 6 1/2" OEM speakers. The Alpine 69C3 is a huge improvement over the stock Geo Clarions in every way; clarity, volume, and response. But then they should be as we are comparing apples and oranges here. How the 69C3's compare to other 6x9 speakers with a JVC KD-HDR30 headunit, I cannot say but for low price they cannot be beat. Installation was simple; use the punch-out template on the box to cut the hole in the panel and flush mount. My only complaint is with the "grilles". They offer no protection to the speaker and this is a poor compromise in order to save so little in production costs. However, better grilles can be had at the local box store if desired.
