Product Reviews For Kicker 06S12L5-4

  • I went to my local circuit city and saw this sub. Turned it on in the store and I wasn't impressed. The guy who worked there said it sounds totally different when it's in your trunk so he put it in my car to test it. I was stunned to hear the difference. I heard it in the Kicker designed enclosure and it was was great for any type of music (fast, low or power bass). I gave it 850 watts RMS and it hit so hard that we blew a fuse when I played Blueberry Yum Yum by Ludacris. You won't be disappointed with this sub. I was impressed but I figured for a little more money, I can get the L7. Whether you get the L5 or the L7, make sure the box is ported so they can get really loud.

  • i just put 1 12" in my 98 honda civic and all i can say is wow. this speaker is amazing. i put it in a ported box and for the sound you get you cant beat the price! i would bet money this speaker can take on 2 12 cvr's if the solo is powered right. i have this sub running on a kicker amp 850.2 ZX model

  • I HAVE 2 OF THESE WIRED AT 4OHMS RUNNING ON A LITTLE 1000W BOSS AMP. THESE THINGS POUND. I BROKE THE SEAL ON MY WINDOW THE FIRST WEEK I HAD IT. IM ABOUT TO GET A 2400W HIFONICS AMP. IM SURE MY WINDOW WILL BREAK FOR SURE THEN. IF U HAVE THE EXTRA MONEY, MAKE SURE U GET SOME DYNAMAT. I COULDNT AFFORD IT AT THE TIME. IM NOT WORRIED RIGHT NOW THOUGH, I LIKE WATCHING MY TRUNK ABOUT TO FALL OFF. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH 2 L7'S AND IM NOT FAR FROM HIM, CONSIDERING I ONLY HAVE THAT BOSS AMP. WHEN I GET THAT HIFONICS AMP IM SURE I SHOULD HAVE HIM. NEVER GOT A TICKET, (YET) BUT I HAVE GOT PULLED OVER AND BEEN WARNED. SO ALL IN ALL I GIVE EVERYTHING A 10 OUT OF 10. THIS A GREAT SPEAKER. NEXT UPGRADE IS THE L7 OR THE SOLO X.

  • i have a 2005 Monte Carlo with 2 L5's on a 1600 watt Hifonics Brutus, and these are the best subwoofers I ever had, I have 3 Kicker CVR's and they didnt sound better than these L5's so if your looking for some good subwoofers than these are the ones you need to get......

  • I have had these subs for about 3 years now and they still pound.. They have gone through numerous amps and boxes.. They are great all around subs, I have never really been dissapointed with them... Other than the fact that you have to have almost the perfect wattage to make them sound good, otherwise they get blairy and the quality of the higher notes tends to lessen. I am running them on a 2 farad cap with a small clarion amp and a Rockford Power Series T8004 Bridged at 2Ohms in a Vented Q logic enclosure. All in all great subs.. but if you are going for the ultimate loud, they aren't quite what you are looking for...

  • I put one of these subs in my Jeep and it is one of the loudest at my school. Im powering it with a 550.2 kicker amp and it hits extremely hard. I listen to alot of metal and rock with double base drum and the sub keeps up and sounds really crisp and clear. I really want a L7 but i cant afford it yet.

  • I have an older model of this in a custom kicker box in the back of my civic coupe. The first day of having it hooked up with just a kicker 400.1 am had people turning heads. The only problem is so much power that dynamat is a must. Excelent product kicker

  • I have one of these and a L7 both are 12's. LOL the L5 was found on the side of the road and has a hole in the cone but it still pounds way to go Kicker.

  • Hey I had 2 in my ford focus zx3 and a custom ported box and a modified infinity amp to power these subs perfectly and i hit 145.5db in the first week i had them and wasnt running at full power, also hit 146.3db after 6 months of having the subs, these subs hit very hard and loud i ended up putting 2 l5 15s in there as well and well i live in a smal town and people knew where i was at all times. produced a wooping 157.6db with less then 6000 watt max in my little car, best bang for your buck, looking to do an suv with 2 solo x 18s,2 solox 12s and 2 solox 10s for comp, using hifonics amps and crossovers, looking for that 180db mark
