I replaced a broken MTX amp with this . I own a car audio company and wanted to test some of the more cost effective, powerful amps out there. I used about 4 in my truck before testing this one. This is by far the strongest and loudest. The MTX I had was 800 W and while it sent a clearer signal with better sound than this MA Audio amp, for the money this is the best I have had in my truck. Retail is rather high, but check on ebay or online and you can get this amp for less than $200.00, which is a steal as dealer wholesale price is around $170.00 This site in particular ahs great deals on this amplifier. Make sure you are using a deck with 5V pre-outs as this amp has a darh time compensating for anything less than 4V. If you have airspace, prepare for good rumble and excellent low end sound for the money.
This is a really good amp for the price. I bought it to push my Volfenhag 12 and it does it very well and it sounds really good. You DONT need at least 4v pre-outs, my 9857 only has 2v pre-outs and it runs it very well- all you have to do is turn the gain sensitivity up on the amp if you have low voltage pre-outs.
I have this amp hooked up in my grand prix. I have it pushing four 12 inch mtx subs. I am thinking about buy three more of these to power four alpine type x's
I've got this hooked up to an Alpine !0" type r and it POUNDS. Good sound quality and getting the M500XE to power my alpine type r 6x9's and type r 6 1/2's. great quality for the price. Had it for a year so far and no problems.
Had this amp powering an MB Quart premium it sounded good. Only problem with this amp is you have to use a flat head screw driver to change the settings and the knob fell inside the amp and it doesnt work now.
