Product Reviews For Kicker 06CVX12-2

  • i have 1 one these in a 2004 kia amanti hooked up to a memphis 16-mcd1000 at 1 ohm in a custom enclosure (i think it's 2 cubic ft) mounted in the rear deck and WOW what a difference!!! the car came with a factory infinity sound system and it sounded ok but the 8 inch driver in the rear deck just wasn't hittin' as the volume increased. i was going to go with a jl 500/1 and a 10w7 but i would have gone over my budget. the memphis 16-mcd1000 and the 06CVX12-2 woofer is the best combo to go with if you want loud bangin bass with only 1 woofer and a 1 ohm stable amp

  • I have 1 of these running off of a Sony Xplode 1600watt amp, running the sub 1 ohms, and it's very loud. Had a 12" JLw6v2 which hit really loud but wasn't as clean as the kicker 12cvx. Overall I like this sub.

  • Got 1 of these in the back of a Crysler Sebring 2 door sports model housed in a slot port single 12" box, powered by a Memphis 500 watt (class D) mono amp wired at 2 ohms with JBL mids and highs. Simply put this is a GREAT sub, not quite the best sub of course, but it's really worth the money unless you can afford Treo! Four of these CVX12-2's powered correctly in the right box(s) could surely get you placed at a comp. provided you have a minitruck or maybe a hatchback. Got JBL mids and highs with 2 Audiobahn AW1251 12"s to boot in my girls 4 door chevy car powered with the Audiobahn 800t amp (class A/B) housed in a sealed box and you can hardly tell the difference in the way of sound from listening to these two rides from the outside. I've not yet had the pleasure of getting a db reader on the dash on either of these vehicles. I have to say though, the Audiobahn set-up punches harder inside and moves more air(also a bit quicker to give you a small migrane), but mind you, this is 2 bottom of the line Audiobahn subs compared to 1 kicker so called high-end sub with the exception of the SoloX models. So with all that said, based on my experience this sub is great, but if you really wanna POUND on a small budget and still possibily place at the shows (or just show-off) go with the Audiobahn AW1206t's. Those will blow your mind if set up correctly. AW1206 subs are borderline INSANE! Kicker is nice, but Audiobahn is definetly as nice or even more nice, especially when you consider the price difference while shopping around. These CVX subs are a good buy though. Be profound, have extreme sound!

  • i bought two of these from this site .these are the best subs i ever owned they hit so hard that i almost cant see out my window. I defently recomend a slotted port these speakers will perform their best. I have a 3000 watt ma audio amp and they can take it all.for the money you will be getting a steal thats all i got to say.

  • Just bought a Fosgate Power T500.1bd and two of these Subs to fit in a small sealed box behind third row in my 03' Explorer; set up at 1 ohm. This set up really provides exceptional base and I have a Sony CD-GT510 deck with the bass set to -7. I can't really stand being in the truck with the bass set 0. I also have Fosgate T1682 6X8's in the doors which really provide good highs/mids. Thinking of upgrading though and getting a component system.

  • I used to have jl's in my truck but i switched over to kicker and never went back! I sold my kicker cvr 12's and i bought these and man they hit rediculously hard. And my amp is not very good... Im only running an American Legacy 1200 2 channel amp on them thats turned up all the way. The two twelves are in a kicker ported box. If you want hard hitting bass and good quality these are the subs to buy

  • i just bought one of these for my 2000 cavalier in a ported box and i run it of a crunch 1500 watt amp with every thing turned up 70% of the way. with kenwood 6 / 9's and a kenwood cd player and it hits so hard it feels like my chest is caving in. i blow out my friend who has 2 12" kicker comps running off 2 lanzar 1000 watt amps so i recomend these for anyone who likes alot of bass

  • Bought two of these subs last summer and they hit pretty hard. Have these hooked up to a 1500.1 zx kicker amplifier wired at 2 ohm. Sounds nice. Did have two rockford t1's but blew those in a week wit that amp, cost me 600 bucks, but i recomend kicker subs and amps if you really wanna be heard!

  • I put one of these in my Ford F-250 crew cab in a fiberglass box that I made. I've been installing stereos for around 12 years and this sub is by far the best boom for your buck. The main thing is you have the right box and you have the right power, this thing will jiggle your eyes.

  • These subs really BEAT HARD!! I have 2 of these in a huge ported box with a Kicker ZX 1500.1 amp powering...The gain on the amp is turned half way up and the bass boost is 1/4 up... If i turned it up any louder, my car would probably shut off from low power. If you want to really be heard and shake your windows (and even cars in front of you's windows) get these. Also, even in a ported box these sound pretty crisp, however, if you listen to a lot of rock or metal music, i would advise you to get a sealed box. This would let these subs be loud still, but even more clean hitting.

My windows are startin to leak and my outside body panels have to be tightened every so often. Also, one of my room-mate will no longer ride with me because he says he cant stand the stomach ache. I LOVE IT!

  • I have two of these hooked up to the kicker 1500.1 amp and they are the loudest thing I have ever heard. Most of my friends wont even ride in my car anymore because they say it hurts. if you get these make sure you give them power though because the first amp I had fried trying to power these things. The kicker amp is your best option.

  • Had several of these over the past couple years. Love em best sub to have come from kicker. I have one in SQ box 2.1qubic ft tuned to 35hz. I did a 144.5 on a termlab with 2200watts on it. Dont get me wrong i have about 200square feet of sound matte and 17 cans of expandable foam but none the less that's pretty good for a single 12

  • That Alpine is 300 RMS @ 4Ohms and 500 RMS @ 2 Ohms..there's 2 things you can do! 1)using the 2 Ohm kicker you can wire it in a 4 Ohm load nd get 375 RMS. 2)using the 4 Ohm kicker you can wire it in a 2 Ohm load nd get 750 RMS. 4 Ohms will have a better SQL then 2 Ohms, but 2 Ohms will have a better SPL then 4 Ohms..And i would also recommend running 12 AWG speaker wire from the sub to the box and from the box to the amp!!! It's up to you how you want to wire the sub..Honestly I can see your using it for just listening to rather then competition.. with using just 1 of these kickers i'd just get the 2 Ohm woofer nd wire it in 4 Ohms..375 RMS @ 4 Ohms sounds really good.. I usta have it set up like that in my car..w if you wanted to do 2 kickers you have more options on wiring setups.. If you had 2 of these running on a more powerful amp i would suggest 2 Ohms just so it makes it that much more louder :)Once you hit 1500 RMS it's jus madd loud..At this level of power i'd just run 2 Ohms and sacrafice the SQL over SPL..
