Product Reviews For Kenwood P-NAV6019

  • I just purchased this combo and my first impressions are it has a lot of potential but falls a little short. I had the unit installed by the dealer so I have no input on that area. I find the User interface software to be a bit complicated and difficult to use. I purchased the Sirius radio package but learned that the Nav system is designed for XM only. If you use the Sirius it requires extra step to use it in conjunction with the Nav system plus you cannot acess the features for traffic and weather which the Nav unit is designed to use. Also I was intending to have the remote camera installed on a Horse trailer which I pull but learned after I made the purchase the signal would not allow for such a application (20' max cable lenght). I suppose it will take some getting used too but I find the software interface to be much too complicated and or non user friendly for a unit designed to be used in a automoble. It does all it says it will do but making changes on the fly (while driving) is much too complicated.

  • I installed this product myself in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, along with the HD radio receiver and the back up camera. Overall I am very pleased with the product and it's performance, the navagation is simple and easy to use, and appears to be vary accurate. Through programming it is possible to have a full screen map display, but I would like to have a clock somewhere in there. The head unit is a very nice unit, the picture quality is above what I expected, with the controls easy to find and use. It integrated into the dash very nicely with a factory like appearance (which was very important to me), I cannot really comment on the sound of the unit as I have it installed with amplifiers and upgraded speakers. The line output signal is very clean though I wish it were 5 volts rather than the 2v it is. HD radio is pretty neat, you can definately hear a difference, and the back up camera works as expected. Overall I give this unit high marks with a very high mark for value, In my opinion, at this price, you are definately getting more for the money.
