I got the APX4240 to replace a dying 10 year old Pioneer amp. I bridged it for use with a pair of Alpine Type X components. It's a clean amp and amplifies sound just like it's supposed to. It's noise free and doesn't distort within it's operating range. Cons: there is no switch for bridged operation and no instructions on bridged operation either. It didn't really matter much to me, but this would have thrown many novices for a loop. Clarion really dropped the ball there. I suppose you could call tech support if you plan to bridge this amp. A pair of Y-cables will be necessary. I didn't need tech support, so I have no comments on tech support. I did advise Clarion shortcoming in the manual and they said they would fix it. Pros: It's exceptional value from a trusted name in car audio. Plus this price ($129 at the time of this review) is the price being offered by authorized dealers. Despite the manual's shortcomings I think this amp is an exceptional value.
the amp is solid. It sounds really good to me. I'm running two 4inch speakers, and a single 8inch briged. it really brought the sub alive, and the highs are just right for my taste. the instructions was vague, but it was no problem.
great amp i have it going to 4 alpine r-series 5x7 speaks and they sound perfect when i bought this amp it was $150 and it was a deal at that price
Excellent Amp. I have it hooked up to 4 clarion srs1686 spkrs. It does the trick to give you great highs while i have my JL 12W6V2 Sub pumping giving increadible bass. Very crisp sound. i love it!
