  • Wouldn't use any receiver but pioneer. Display is a little dim but amazing sound. The high and low pass filters work wonders.

  • Pioneer uses an impressive mosfet amp that is clean and powerful. While auditioning several brands in store I found Pioneer to have the strongest output and the wide range of useable EQ will shape the sound to any ear and environment. Any EQ adjustments that you make are automatival stored in the "custom" heading in the selectable EQ presets menu. I matched this unit with the Pioneer 4-way 6.75" speakers mounted in the front doors. The bass is impressive for small speakers and the imaging of the mid and high frequencies are amazing. You can't tell the speakers are in the doors only. The interface is quite intuitive so you'll be navigating like a pro in no time. It's not over designed it has a classy look that blends nicely with your vehicles interior. 2 pair of RCA outputs on the back, 1 of which can be used as a dedicated subwoofer output. It even contains an onboard electronic crossover for your subwoofer. The front panel input is extremely handy for all your portable devices. Too many features to name them all in a customer review and it doesn't break the bank. As a matter of fact it was one of the lowest price HU's on the rack and it sounded the best which is ultimately what we're after. I wasn't concerned with the nameplate, I wanted the ballsiest HU that I could afford. Pioneer happened to fit that bill.

  • I used to have a pioneer 4800mp. great stereo but has its draw backs. cons: line noise over the speakers, hard to read in day light, annoying to open up the face place to put in a cd, too many menus to navigate to get what you want. The 2900MP has all the features the 4800MP has minus an RCA out, line noise and I can read it during the day, also the cd slot in is awesome...
