Product Reviews For JVC KD-G230

  • As you can see by my ratings, JVC out did itself packing all of these features into a unit, at such an economical price. Quality and ease of initial set-up of this unit are exeptional! Sound is fantastic- it will not distort at high volumes with lots of bass, you are only limited by the quality of your speakers. I use my unit on a pontoon boat, so it gets punished both by the elements and the LOUD...... parties, with no problems. This is a highly recommended unit!

  • I had a Kenwood CD/MP3/wma receiver and after it was stolen I decided to go with my personal brand of choice and have been completely satisfied. Great quality and sound.

  • i bought this head unit along with some audiobahn speakers and an amp and subs. it says it has subwoofer preamp outputs but it actually only has one set of outputs and you change the output mode, so if you are like me and want to run multiple amps(one for speakers and one for subwoofers) you cant do it properly. the sound quality on this unit sucks. the equilizer controls are crappy and no matterr how you tune them the sound quality is crap. i am very unimpressed with this unit and i would never suggest buying it

  • This unit has all the features that are needed for an audiophile that needs all the MP3 / iPod necessities, and a remote control as well. This unit has nice sound and does all that it advertises. I replaced a Dual XDM6820 with this JVC, and if I had known how cheezy the Dual brand was, I would have spent the extra $20 in the first place and saved alot of headaches that were created by CD-skipping and Dual not allowing me to return / replace / fix the unit "under warranty". JVC kicks Dual outta the competition by far! :O)

  • I replaced a Sony CDX-S2000 with this unit. I am completely satisfied with the features offered by this unit and was delightfully impressed with the quality of the sound delivered. The only issue I had with the unit is the inability to connect more than one amplifier to it using RCA style jacks. A problem easily solved with the addition of a digital crossover to my system. For the money, this is one of the BEST units offered.

  • I installed this in my '84 jeep CJ-7 and I've be inpressed(so far) by it's preformance. Most of the controls are the driver's side whitch is handy when your driving and need to adjust them. And the mic input is a big help if you want to run aux. source units(sat. radio, cassettes or PC file)and don't want to use a FM modulator. As for the outputs true it only has one pair so you'll have to use a after market adapter harnness for big muti amp systems, but would you really use this type of head unit with that kind of set-up.this is a mid-market head unit for the average person with a simple system in their car.All and all I'ed say this is a good unit for meny types of systems as long as you understand it's limitations.

  • i bought this deck to replace a sony xplode cdx-gt210 that i had and it was a big difference the sound was way more clear with more and better control to adjust the bass and perfomance of my system i have it hooked up to 2 12" 1200 watt pinoneers and a 3000 watt absolute amp with a built it crossover now i can set off alarms and get great bass with no distortion i recomend this to anyone.

  • For the money, this unit is awesome. A lot of bang for the buck. I've been using the unit for 6 months now and have been completely satisfied. It's hard to believe the sound quality coming out of this thing for the price.

  • This radio is really good for the money I paid for it. I run my iPod through the auxillary input and the quality of the music sounds great. I would recommend this to any future buyers.

  • this is a great unit, esp. for the price. It only has one set of preamp outs but for me that's enough. the sound quality is great. the buttons feel nice and solid compared to many other units where the volume knob is loose. and i like the red glow
