These speakers replaced some Alpine Alpine SPS-17C2 that were installed from a previous owner. I thought the Alpines were stock because they had little to no control on the bottom end and even going from the factory HU to an aftermarket didn't help all that much. The Pioneer units are perfect. The 3-way system really allows for a very customized sound. The lower-end from the speakers they replaced is far more superior. Obviously anyone looking for a significant amount of bass needs to go with a sub, but these will do the trick if you're looking for more clarity from your stock setup. These are, by far, worth every penny. The installation was easy enough, especially since I didn't have to do any wiring work since the stock harnesses had already been cut and I was able to reuse the speaker adapters to fit in my vehicle. The sound performance of these speakers is amazing compared to the Alpines, I couldn't be more satisfied. I would imagine these would be a perfect choice if you were getting a sub with them. You'll get amazing mid and high end and the sub can take care of the low stuff.
i bought these to replace some boss 300watt speakers in my front doors and these speaker are so much better.The sound from the middle and high end is is louder and clear i know these speaker are louder then the boss 300watt. VERRY GOOD SPEAKERS!
