Product Reviews For Alpine SPR-17C

  • Got these in the doors of a 96 maxima. throwing about 165rms to each door. Each door has: CDT 560i XOs to 1'' silk CDT TW25 tweeters and to these alpine type Rs. These replaced my blow CDT EF woofers(my fault not the woofers). i had the Rs in the back for rear fill before. i really like how it sounds now with the Rs. better then my CDT EF woofers. i have my highs turned down a ton on my eq because of the two tweeters even those it's crossed over the coaxial tweeter still plays a bit. i might disconnect it i'm not sure yet...decent midbass my doors arn't deadened yet i know it would improve alot. if i didn't have the XOs and tweeters it would sound alot different i know. if you honestly can't installed tweeter pods and use components i would feel very good reccomending this speaker assuming you give it 100rms. i needs the power to come alive running it off deck power would be a huge waste.

  • i have these hooked up for highs and two type-R 12's in the trunk all installed in a civic coupe... I was impressed with the sq of these speakers. they are power hungry so if u dont feed them their rms watts or close to it then theres no point in getting them

  • I bought these speakers for my '97 Ford F350. These are the best speakers I have ever bought by far. The sound quality is great, its got a deep and clear bass while maintaining clear treble. Install was where the only part that gave me a little trouble. I had to use some brackets that came with the kit to make them fit, but when I had to break off some tabs that I didn't need, the bracket broke in one spot. I taped it so now it works fine. Otherwise a very great product.

  • Alpine SPR-17C. Not a perfect fit in a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, even with included bracket adapters. However, about 2 minutes worth of mods on the speaker housing and voila, "like a glove". Still pushing these through factory stereo but the sound quality is definitely noticeable. The highs are much more pronounced and the bass is tight and clean. A high quality after market stereo with at least 50W is needed to get the full capability of this speaker. Still waiting for the 69R's for the rear panel....on back order. Once those puppies are installed, I will have a perfectly matched speaker system for eternal music bliss!

  • Put a pair of these in the back doors of my van where nothing existed before. These, paired with a set of SPR13C speakers in the front doors and an MRP-F300 amp have turned the van "with the tin cans connected with kite string" into a full fledged concert hall. The entire setup has made this van more fun to drive than anything I've had in years. Exceptional sound quality, and unbeatable performance at a price that I still can't believe was so affordable - and service from the store is incomparable, with the fastest shipping I've seen in quite some time.

  • Installed these in the front doors of a 2001 Honda Accord and R-Type 6x9's in the rear and are amped by a 4x100 RMS Alpine amp. All I can say is these speakers will rival 200 dollar speakers without a question. Probably the best speaker I have ever heard for this price range. If you are on a budget this is the way to go.

  • Great clear speakers. I'm running them off of my head unit amp just for highs and have Type-R 6x9s in the rear too and Type-R 12"s on 1500 watts in the trunk. Its a great system. Highly recommended.
