Just got these to replace a set of Alpine 171A components i bought hear last year because the high's were way to harsh. Well after looking around here for a new set of 6 1/2's i saw these and looked ok judging from what other's have said about MB Quart. Just to be sure i could mount these in my truck i called MB Quart and the rep said no problem and that he liked the new EKA series over the Discus . Also the new EKA series is built in China (to reduce cost i assume) and are designed in Germany. Bottom line - These are the best car speakers i have owned. They sound nice an smooth, very good midbass and impressive bass. They play clean and loud without harsh ear splitting treble. Build quality is very good and have an onboard crossover. If you looking to save some money but dont want to sacrifice sound quality give the EKA series a try. I'm sold on MB Quart.
I have tried a few different speakers, Alpine, Pioneer, but these are a cut above. The sound is clean, and precise. For the price I dont think you can do better.
