i used had a pioneer combo in my explorer, when i changed the speaker put this one and the sound is good, is most likely a alpine sound suport 90 wts from a rockford amp. put some aditional twter and the heaven is here inside my truck!
These speakers sound great, with alot of bass too. For me, the only thing is that because these speakers put out so much bass that it rattles my doors on my Toyota Camry LE so much (quite annoying). At 450W or 225 rms each, u will definitely need a descent amp to kick these speakers.
i bought 4 of these for my saturn sl1 and they sound awesome bass sounds like a baby sub in the doors all in all to me its the best quality for the cash and if u r sitting in the back seat your ears will be hurting very loud on the highs!! also im still using a crappy trash sony radio will be upgrading soon
Guys, this baybies are good I've combined 4 of them with the powerzone crunch amp 1800 and he puts away 225 x 4 and this speakers couldn't sound better, no distortion, no problems just exelence. They are cheap and look nice, best buy ever.
I got two pairs of these for a crew cab silverado for a upgrade from factory. The clarity is unbelieable and the bass is relly nice also. I plan to put the on a four channel amp soon, because the pioneer just cant push them like they need to be pushed. Very very good sounding speaker for $40 bucks. Price for Power ratio, i don't see any out there to come close. Highly recommended.
They are great. They hit the bass awesome and can go pretty loud. as of right now I dont have them hooked up to an amp so once I do I cant wait. I would definitely recommend these.
Just put in 4 of these into my 99 Maxima. They're being pushed by a Crunch GPV1600.4. For the money, there's probably no other speaker than can beat it. Bass is very impressive. Mids are very clear and but the highs are lacking a little bit(I have no tweeters). In the end, they're excellent for the money but there are many speakers that sound a lot better(in higher price ranges).
I bought these because of an earlier review from someone that installed these in a Chevrolet 4 door Silverado. I bought 4 of these and they do sound very good for the price. However, these have very nice aluminum cages, but they will not fit in the rear door area without doing major cutting of the door or the door panel. I was able to use them in the front door only, but they fit very tight there too. These speakers sound great, the price is right, and they look awesome. I don't think they need a power amp to drive them.

I bought these a couple of months ago. At first I was kind of skeptical since I had never heard of the BOSS brand before. However, after reading the reviews I decided to give them a try. I installed them in my '99 Sierra Regular cab on the doors. Obviously the bigger speakers would not fit in the factory brackets so I had to do some drilling but all in all an easy hook up. Only took about 2 hours and that was with installing DYNAMAT. The reviews were not lieing. These speakers hit hard and are really loud. They outperform alot of the big name speakers I have had in the past. I highly recommend getting DYNAMAT for your doors though as it really adds to sound and helps control vibrations.
These speakers ROCK! The lows are punchy, and the mids and highs scream with clarity! Nice large magnets, and a very sleek look. I have only one complaint. The tweeter cover was not mounted properly, and came off very easily. It was an easy fix, but still frustrating. Overall, great speakers for the money!
This speaker does scream, but BEWARE! They blew in 2 weeks, 16 days to be exact. I only had them connected to the head unit. Sony Xplode with 52watts x4. I had the bass on 4 the ENTIRE time, with a max of 10 and its winter so I didnt play them loud cause the windows were up. This is the first time I have ever bought Boss, I have the 6x9's also and they don't sound like they will last much longer either. A good price, but you get what you pay for.
