What great product. Installed in my 08 tacoma Dbl cab. Crystal clear highs. phenomenal sound. I purchased this set for 99 dollars. Money well spent.
Just installed in an Xterra to replace the factory speakers after the surrounds deteriorated. I've used cheaper coax speakers in older cars and was hesitant to spend a few bucks more. Now that I've heard these, I don't regret my decision at all! The tweeters are bright, but the option to choose 0, -2, -4db was perfect. I chose -4 and still reduced the treble on my EQ. I mounted the tweeters in hole I made just above the mid bass. The top of the door location would have been too bright. I wanted them close to the mids anyway. There wasn't room for the crossover box inside the door and I didn't want to splice under the dash or run new wire. So its mounted above the mid, close to the door hinge. Hopefully this won't cause too much shock opening/closing the door. If so I can re-solder. I'm still surprised how much more bass there is from these speakers over 5-1/4's I've used in the past. These have more/deeper bass than the factory 6x9's. I have a Kenwood KDC MP235. Sure, there are better speakers/setups out there, but for a few bucks more than cheap replacements this is a great buy. I'm VERY pleased with my purchase; especially being $70 less here that the other popular car audio site(!). Install was slightly difficult, so it will help to be handy w/ tools ...or know someone who is.
I have the KFC-S702P model in a Nissan Qashqai which are the Europe / Middle East / Africa equivalent. Tweeters are initially very bright when installed, but mellow slightly after breaking in. I was powering these with a 60W rms KFC8405 4 channel amp with JBL GT0627 rear fills. I later bridged the amp to the Kenwoods and powered the JBLs off the headunit... boy did the Kenwoods sound sweet!! The mid bass rolled off smoothly and the highs were no longer as shrill. Make sure you give these comps at least 100W rms each in order to appreciate the sound quality.
