Product Reviews For Alpine SPS-600C

  • These sound way better than my stock door speakers did in my 00 civic. They fit extremely well with the shallow depth. Cant beat the price for a set of Alpine's either. I only have them running straight off of an Alpine deck right now and they still sound good. Cant wait to here them hooked up to my amp. Overall I would recommend them.

  • OK, got these to replace older model Alpine 6.5in. component type S's and glad i did cause the voice coils were rubbing very badly, these new versions sound alot better than the SPS 171-A's, much better bass response and image, and seems the new woofer and cone design must be the reason, cause the magnet is smaller and peak power handling is less! only complaint is no tru cross-over(in-line now ran from woofer to tweeter, which is power hogging)so with no ability to adjust tweeter level, used my SPS 171A's crossovers and tweeters cause they r great!! If your looking for a true componet set with ajustable crossovers go higher in the Alpine Line, but i love them for a woofer replacement! system powered by the Crunch P5000.5

  • I have this set of speakers and the coaxial version hooked up to an autotek 4 channel amp. These speakers sound great with 100 watts rms. Crisp, tweeters are kind of bright.

  • i have older type-s components(real components with crossover) these are just separates. and before swapping both of them out i put one in place of my type-s and was disappointed. the so called 80watt speakers could only handle 3/4 of the volume of older ones. compare them side by side and you will nottice: older alpines have: bigger voice coil, bigger magnet, phase plug, although they are rated only at 50w rms they pump more bass out than these lil things dont get me wrong tho for the money they are good sounding set.

  • installed 6 of these in my boat, sounds amazing, with a 250 watt marine amp the highs peirce your ears with moderate bass, and handle water abuse just as well as marine speakers

  • Just put a set of these and the SPS600s in my 2001 SS Camaro. Driving them off of a 60w/channel JVC amp, they are the best components I have ever heard and I've been doing this a looooong time. The high end is not harsh at all, the midrange is very natural, and I can't get over the bass that they produce. These speakers are a steal at this price! Don't think about it another second....

  • Driving some off a mb quart amp, very efficient, sound quality is great for the money, the best i've heard in that price range ever. Nice yet not boomy bass response, silky high's, plenty of volume, plan on getting another to install in the back...also great customer service from online car stereo! They really take care of the customer if a problem should arise (which has only happened to me once)

  • These are excellent entry level speakers. I installed them in my ford work truck. They represent high's OK with better than stock performance, while using deck power. The lows were impressive with only 15w rms from an Alpine deck. It's the mid range that these speakers really fall apart. Male vocals and saxaphone tones are reproduced poorly with little definition and even less seperation. But overall, they were reasonably priced and performed 3x better than my stock 8 ohm disposable ford stock speakers. I've had several pairs of these over last 10 years and S series speaker quality is slowly decining to average sound. I didn't even remove these speakers when I left that job. I can get better speakers for a little more money and a lot more quality.
