Product Reviews For Crunch P1400.4

  • This amp puts out some clean power to my crunch components and 6x9's. I have a clarion eq which gives a 7 volt preout and I have my amps gain @ 0. Thats right 0! It is very loud and clear and it does not distort at high volumes. Make sure u wire it correctly and u will have one hell of an amp. My whole system is crunch with 4 bazooka tubes and it bangs like nobodys bizness. If u want to sound like you spent a couple thousand without spending a couple thousand, go with these, Oh by the way....they are made by MB QUART, aka maxxsonics. Great amps. Thanks ocs!

  • Im not really all into the stereo system thing, but i have this amp hooked up to one, thats right, ONE power acoustik thats pushin 800w RMS in my 95 Firebird. i had it for one day, and already my rear view mirror has feel off and my head is aching. ive set off this guys alarm at the mall with my volume on 30 (out of 40) and bass on the lowest it can go, -7. I LOVE THIS AMP!!!

  • I'm no expert in car audio but I purchased this amp to replace an OLD Crunch amp that was in my boat. It's being used to drive a single 10" subwoofer. I hooked it up today using 2 channels bridged to power the sub. I tell ya for $100 it rocks just fine. I'm sure some screws started falling out from the pounding. Currently I have the head unit driving (2) 5" and (2) 6/9's. I am going to configure the other two channels on the amp to run the 6x9's. I was leary on this purchase because I've heard some mixed reviews about crunch amps. All I can say is if you want some cheap clean power, this is a great purchase. Now whether or not it frys out within 6 months is another story. Are you going to win competitions with it? Probably not, but for under a hundred bucks it's a damn good deal. I would have to say it probably puts out 50% to 75% of it's rated power and thats fine for a mug like me. I've never even had a car stereo with that much bass in it before. We'll see how long this one lasts!

  • Was very disappointed with this amp. Was poushing 4 Kenwood 6.5s and it sounds like crap. Even after using a tuner, it didnt sound well. Large chuncks of mids and highs were missing. I replaced my JL Audio with this am, and my JL was only 30 watts, this is suppose to be 1400 max. After running tests, its benches out at 45 watts per channel, not sure where they got 1400watts from. Definally would NOT recommend this amp for serious audio heads.

  • i was wondering, would it be a good idea to power two kenwood 12s, two 6.5 dual speakers, and 2 250w tweeters of this one amp? the amp has enough power to do that well, i just dont know if there is something that could go wrong

  • Im using this to power 2 polk momo 6x9's bridged and it sounds good. Have the gains turned all the way up on HPF selection to keep up with the 15s in my 94 geo metro. Make sure you have this mounted with airflow cause they heat up quickly. Also have the 1500.1 and it gets smokin hot too. Dont like the heatsink design but well worth the price. No way it puts out that kind of wattage or my 6x9s would be toast by now.

  • I was looking for a nice 4-channel for my set-up in my 05 mountaineer and was told about this little beast! I was unfamiliar with the crunch line at the time but when I did some research and found it was made by maxxsoinc the same company that makes hifonics it new it would do the trick just fine! I was shocked to see that when i cranked up the volume on my deck to a lil past half tilt I began to smell a burning smell coming from my doors! This amp had smoked my pioneer 3-ways! So yeah if you are looking for a nice 4-channel on a budget than look no futher!

  • We run 10" 450 watt Mtx subs (2 subs) on these amps all the time and they slam hard in 1 cf per sub sealed. learn how to tune and how the amps are actually rated. the ratings for all crunch products is maxx divide by 2 for actual rms. this amp will do 350 rms x2 @ 4ohms or 175 rms x 4 at 2 ohms. they are very hot items I cant keep them in stock at my shop. and out of over 100 so far only 1 has had an issue and it was user damaged not faulty. and they still replaced it for free!

  • This lil budget amp is a beast! I have it hooked in mercury mountaineer to a set of pioneer 3-ways and this amp had them smoking! The gains aren't even maxed out either, it's crazy! If you are on a budget and don't want to spend a ton on a multi-channel look no futher!

  • This amp rocks! I have it in my '03 Explorer powering the oe speakers pushing only the mids and highs backed up by 500 watts through the two 12" subs. The clarity of the doors is awesome with this amp. Dollar for dollar a great value.

  • these continue to be great products for anybody who has any sense at all. you can tell who to listen to and who is just clueless.. great amps, made by hi-fonics. they pound with good sound quality and don't overheat unless abused by an idiot..
