Product Reviews For Sony XM-GTR2022

  • Awesome amp and great price! I'm running it to two MTX RT and it really pushes them to there limits. Produces good sound in my speakers and good deep low bass out of my woofers. Great product!

  • This amp is really good but i had trouble with mine. It kept overheating and it would cut off for a while. It might have been the way i wired it but i havent had any problems with the current amp i have right now

  • wow this amp was my first it had way more power than my punch 300 but after about 2-3 songs it would cut off for like 10 min then work for half a song and keep repeating

  • I bought one of these amps in 2006 from best buy and hooked it up myself. I have been through 2 audiobahn 12s and two memphis audio 12's. it pushes, but it overheats and shuts off. I get tired of being in the park or beatin up the block and my amp shuttin off.

  • All the people that say this amp overheats i guarantee its because you wired it wrong. it is only a 4 ohm stable amp. But good for the money, just dont push her to hard haha

  • everyone who says this amp overheats obviously doesnt know how to hook it up correctly. i have mine pushing a xplod 12 and a legacy 12 with almost 2200 watts of resistance among the two subs and this amp pounds. i cant turn it up past 25 and thats with the bass on zero. if u want to wine try hooking it up correctly first.

  • I agree that cutoff problem was prominent but its due to a reason. This amp heats way more on lower voltage, i changed my battery and added a capacitor and banged it at full volume at 20hms mono and it just got warm not at all hot. RECOMMENDED

  • I like this amp, it is not audiophile quality but it gets the job done and at a good price I have had it hooked up to two RE audio SR 12" subs in a 1.60 cu ft sealed box, it sounded very good considering the mid level subs and amp the amp ran cool to the touch even at high volume for extended periods of time

  • ran cool with good voltage @ a 2ohm load pushing 2, RE Audio SR 12" subs in a 1.60 cu ft sealed box good sound considering it is a mid level amp pushing mid level subs I am putting 3 of these amps in my boat to power the mid bass and bass duties 1 to push 4, Sound Stream Pro Series mid bass 8" and 2 more to push 4, RE audio SR 12" subwoofers So obviously I am happy with this amp as it is a good value and does what I need it to do

  • this amp is hooked up to 2 1200 watt sony xplode 12 in. speakers and it sounds good. i have a capacitor hooked and it dont overheat or cut off.might be the way its hooked up or maybe they need a capacitor .but this is a great amp

  • This amp is great either as a starter or set in series. I have mine powering 2 TRASH ( en-sw150 ) Fusion encounter 15s at 4ohm. Subs are tuned 34.2 hz. Amp is 40hz LPF but i leave mine unfiltered. The amp does have auto shut-off so it's essential you dont mount to carpet and NEVER mount in stagnant air zones. This amp will require 14v to operate at below 58hz or above 73% maximum power output, It WILL auto shut-off if done for over 5 minutes
