  • So i just bought this yesterday. So far so good. Very easy to use, dvd's look amazing, but id recomend getting a Pac Tr-7 so you can play dvd's while driving. It comes with I-pod I got the nve-p1 Navigation unit instead of the blackbird and it works great. The blue tooth works great, but id recommend you check the compatibility with ur phone, since not all phones will let it access your phone book.

  • The IVA-W505 produces great audio, but requires the optional Imprint equalizer unit in order to compete with the Pioneer head unit I had before, which costs only $200. But the main complaint I have is the constant banking of songs. It divides the music on my 16GB flash drive into 3 banks. But each time I start my vehicle it has to "re-bank" Sometimes I've already arrived at my destination by the time it finishes banking and starts displaying song data. What's worse is that when I switch banks, to find songs that it didn't add to the current bank, it starts the entire banking process over again. I also had a small plastic piece fall out of the unit when I opened it to insert a DVD. I showed it to the dealer where it was installed, while it was still in warranty, but he said not to worry about it. It looked like some sort of track or guide but he said, "as long as it still opens and closes, don't worry about it!" My IVA-W505 doesn't include the GPS unit. For the price I paid, around $900, it should have. The main reason I purchased it is because the interface unit for the Pioneer unit would not work consistently with my Chevrolet Avalance steering wheel controls. The Audio quality of the Pioneer easliy surpasses the IVA-W505. Once I spent the extra $150 for the Imprint unit, the IVA-W505 finally sounded as good as the $200 Pioneer head unit. Because of the lack of an included GPS, the cost, the requirement of the Imprint unit to compete with the $200 Pioneer, and the forever long banking, I cannot give the IVA-W505 anywhere near a perfect score.
