Product Reviews For Boston Acoustics G112-44

  • i bought this speaker for 150 and it was worth it untill the voice coil got fried, at 65 bucks this is the best speaker for the price, they bump harder than they say, 2 g2's in a ported box w/ and mtx amp and your comp. status

  • I have 2 G1's that I bought elsewhere for a higher price. They have great sound quality and have great efficiency. They RMS at 200 watts not 50. These subs pound for how much power they require. My friend has three rockfords and these dominated sound quality and were much louder. They are very well priced on this site and i wouldnt recommend anything different. With a vent ported box I am extremely happy at the sound they provide. THEY HIT HARD AND SOUND CLEAN.

  • I have two of these in a large slotted box powered by a kenwood 1000. These babies far surpassed anything I expected. Just like any sound system, the box and the amp are far more important than the sub itself. These do NOT run on 50 RMS, they run on 200 RMS (No matter what the website may say, I talked about it with a certified Boston Acoustics retailer). consequently, if you put these is a small or poorly constructed box, you will severely diminish the power they are capable of. Mine are in the trunk of my 2009 Mazda3 sedan, and they can vibrate the snow off the back windshield (and they're not even broken in yet. cant wait to see what happens once they are). Yes i know this is a very lengthy review but i feel like there are too many reviews on this site that simply say "man this thing KICKS! so amazing!" that really doesnt tell a future shopper what they need to know about buying a subwoofer. Truthfully, Boston Acoustics is one of the highest quality companies in car audio. They may be more expensive, but they are well worth the money. These are designed with a special core that does not allow them to distort. No matter how loud they get, they will never distort. Period. That is one of the main reasons i chose to get them. Additionaly, they come with a fuse built into the back of the sub, so if they ever recieve too much power, the fuse will blow instead of melting the sub itself. Boston's are known for their quality so if you're looking for that in addition to amazingly loud bass that will rumble your trunk, buy these.
