This Planet Audio TQ12 model subwoofer is a rather nice subwoofer. The bass is deep and low. Its enough to flex my trunk, the roof, and the windows, as you can see the reflection in the windows move with the low end of the frequency spectrum. It looks nice too, although, I like the looks of the Kicker brand of woofers better. They look more..."i'll eat your system" kind of deal. The previous subs I had (Cheap little Pioneers, 150 watts RMS and 800 max) sounded good, but these Planet's provide the sound I want, and honestly, nothing more. So, here are the pro's in in my opinion when judgeing the woofers--They look good and sound good. The magnet is rather large to be such a cheap woofer. The basket is made of rather thick metal. The quick-connect speaker wire terminals are awesome. They hold the wire in very well (i'm useing 12 gauge wire in this app). And now for the cons---The ONLY con that I have found is the way the dustcap looks. it doesn't look like its on there that well...but it has yet to prove that to me. It has yet to fly off and I have yet to hear it leak air. And I wish they could handle a little more power...but other then those two things, these subs are great. Putting 200 watts RMS into each woofer in a sealed box, stuffed with polyfil. I doubt you'll be disappointed. These won't move the earth or make stuff in houses rattle off the walls and tables, but even ONE of these things will make your car sound like a tin can. I have two of these beasts. I've told you how much they make my car flex. I'm not dissapointed, and hopefully, y'all won't be either. They do good on rock, such as Lamb Of God, Disturbed, and Slipknot...but as with most subs, they pound when it comes to rap.
Great sounding subs! They hit hard, they hit deep. I found them on RitzCamera for $35/ea. I'm using these in a 2010 Ram Quad Cab... Kenwood amp is only opened up half way to prevent hearing loss!!!
