  • what an incredible subwoofer, i have 2 of these matched up with an alpine m1000 amp and they are each getting 500 watts rms in a vented enclosure and it really is a perfect set up for my tl. these new type r's are honestly the perfect combination of spl and sound quality!!!

  • ordered this sub on sunday and got it on friday put it in a 1.8 cf ported cab and hooked it to a fosgate p500-2 which says it puts out 800 bridged at 4 ohms. this sub replaced a p3 fosgate 12 in a sealed box. really great sq and lots of volume. not broken in yet but still very tight sounding in vented box. all and all very happy with the whole deal. great sub, great price, and great service. o yea i put it in a 2000 xterra with fosgate t400-4 on highs 6x9 in back and 6.5 components in front. sony deck and crossfire preamp. really sounds nice and clear and punchy not real loud but enough for me Im 40 years old and listen to old guy music(dead, phish, jazz, and some death cab, and some old maiden, and rush ya know. the alpine sub sounds great and for 139.00 delivered you cant beat it. and by the way there was nothing wrong with the p3 sub just wanted to put something in the nice ported box i had laying around. both subs kick ass in my opinion. cant go wrong with fosgate or alpine. had kicker before in same boxes and to me kicker has loud bass but is very muddy sounding not clean and punchy like alpine, fosgate.

  • Ive got one of these in a vented sub-zero box running off a alpine m500. Great combo for a smaller car. My is300 has a pretty small trunk and one 12 was the only way to get trunk space and good bass. Been running it for about 3 years now and i push this thing hard everyday and it still sounds great. Nice tight bass and good volume not crazy crack your back window loud or anything but it fills the car up and can be heard a couple blocks away.. Great sub

  • I had 2 of these in a slot port box in a jeep grand Cherokee with a planet audio anarchy 2600.2 and they rattle your face. I tried them with a mtx te1501 to see if the sq was any better but didn't make much of a difference. These type r's are some of the loudest 12s I've heard. I wish I would of tried them in a sealed box to see if the sq was better but I sold them and now waiting on some 15" kicker solo classics to run with my te1501

  • I'm running two of these off a Alpine MRX-M110 in a slot ported box for the last two weeks and so far I'm very impressed. Running them at 2ohms amp is rated 1171rms @2 ohms @14.4 volts. They are plenty loud and will give me a headache and earache if I listen too long. The sound quality is good for being in a cheap best buy ported box. I don't think you can find a better bang for your buck.
