Android Auto and Apple CarPlay Compatible
As it is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the Alpine iLX-W650 allows you to ask for directions, activate phone apps, listen to voicemails, read and send text messages, make and take calls, and play music using voice commands with the help of a free external microphone. It also has a Bluetooth connectivity option, where you can stream music wirelessly and answer phone calls hands-free.
Built-In Amplifier
Although an Alpine KTA-450 power amplifier can be stacked on the Alpine iLX-W650 receiver's back, it still has its own built-in amplifier that can handle 16 Watts of continuous power output and a peak power of 40 Watts per channel. With its 7-inch touchscreen display, you can tweak its 9-band parametric EQ to shape the amplifier's frequency response to your liking.
Sirius XM Ready
Aside from its AM/FM tuner, you can also connect a Sirius XM satellite radio tuner to the Alpine iLX-W650, so that you can follow and listen to all your favorite stations and shows while on the road.

While I have been a fan of Alpine in the past this one does not meet expectations. In fact it is the worst head unit I have used in the last 10 years. I went from a Pioneer NEX-1400 to this and it was a massive downgrade. Immediately after installing the speakers pop when I shut off the ignition. Following that the CarPlay screen looked washed out having no contrast. It looks 10 years old. Then, on a 1300 mile trip, my brand new iPhone 13 was an "incompatible device" almost half of the trip when I really needed CarPlay Maps. And to top it off, the radio randomly turns on. It happened 6 times in 2 hours yesterday while I was using CarPlay. I don't listen to the radio so it's just static. I mute it and after a phone call or looking at a text, the radio unmutes itself. I have never actively hated a head unit until now and spent 3 hours yesterday reinstalling the Pioneer which works flawlessly.

This was my first time buying an aftermarket head unit and I'm truly impressed with what I have chosen. The sound quality is absolutely top-notch, and has a solid build as what it looks like. It also has a 9-band para EQ if I want to shape the audio and its screen automatically dims when its already nighttime, which is pretty nice as I don't have to push some buttons anymore.

Very impressed with this unit, responsive screen, apple carplay works flawlessly, quick and easy setup, love all the inputs and output options, noticed immediately a significant improvement in sound quality, bluetooth hooks up perfectly, the speakers in my Toyota Tundra are now truly singing.
