the best money can buy for coaxials...
Maybe its how Santa Fe Audio and Sound wired my speakers but my components up front sound amazing but my coxials in back sound like crap when their turned up loud, i hate to say anything bad about JL though cause they are the best. My opinion, get components and have them put in professionaly and never buy coxials.
As the guy above said... coaxials aren't as good as components which is what I have (XR650 CSi), but I didn't see it on here so I am reviewing here instead. These are Some of the best car speakers I have heard in my life. With the right powering, and settings with equalizers and crossovers, they sound better than my friends $1000+ pair of MB Quart speakers. But as said above, if possible always go with Components because the seperation between the tweeter and woofer makes all the difference in sound in the world.
I wanted high quality but I also wanted to keep my car STEALH. The XR650-CXi from JL Audio was the best choice. I understand that there is new technology involded with this coaxial. and you can ajust the tweeter direction for the sweet spot. SYSTEM: R.Fosgate P3 12"500RMS" sealed w/e1400d JL "Bridged400RMS" amp. and (4) XR650-CXi w/4ch. Performce teck."600 peak" amp. along with the new Pioneer DEH-P8MP 4V w/XM radio. for $2000 it is difficult to beat. It is an exsperence for those who have the pleasure to hear it! Complements from a professional car audio tuners to people setting at the stop light. Rock on!
the tweeters in a set of components is supposed to be no more than 6 inches away from the speaker for the best quality sound. Most cars with tweeters are far more than 6 inches away and produce a blaring trebble right in your face. I think the coaxials are the better choice and i love my JL XR-CXi's
