The sound of this unit is cold and lacking. Usually it's harsh and bright no matter how I set the EQ with very little bass and absolutely no warmth to the tone. I've worked with it for 12 days and have tried several sets of speakers to no avail. I will exchange it for another, probably a Pioneer Supertuner, with good old bass, treble and loudness controls.
This deck replaced a pioneer deck that was broken. Immediatly I noticed a loss in sound quality. After maxing all bass control, I still could not get enough bass sound to satisfy me. I have a 300W Pioneer Amp with Infinity 6X9's and 4" in the door. Now Im looking for a pioneer deck.
I brought this deck to replace my stock one so I can be able to play burnt CDs, MP3s on CDs and connect my Ipod through the AUX IN. Though this deck has lots of good features and looks nice; The acutal performance of the deck is not so wonderful. I thought my stock deck had more bass and overall better tone in the sound then this Sony deck. So overall this is not the best deck, Has features but no good sound.
This is a very good radio to replace your stock. Although it is not the best it is still really impresive from a stock radio. All of the features are very nice being able to play ipod or anything else. Has good bass and treble. It is just a all around good radio to have.
