I think the bad reviews on this are from those who don't know what they're doing or read the manual. If you can't have this sub screaming, or it thumps the bad way, your gain and/or boost is obviously set too high or there's a bad electrical connection.
This sub totally rocks my BMW where the Harman Kardon sub lacked any power. The sound is very airy, natural, clean and even, whether loud or low. It probably won't appeal to mostly rap listeners, because it puts out GOOD bass instead of the annoying muddy rumble they typically go for.
Make sure you play around with the position, orientation, and crossover control, as it takes a little time to get ANY sub sounding just right for personal taste.

I have had this BassLink for over six years, I first bought it for an Isuzu Amigo and set it up with the stock Clarion Head Unit, and four 6.5 JBL Components. My truck rocked, again you get tight bass, nice and hard and you can fine tune until you get tired. The remote is awesome as you can set the bass all the way up and then control it. No complains just great things to say about Infinity. If this is wired correctly it will work forever.
I have since then moved it over to a Mitsubishi Mirage Coupe, since I had it why buy another box that takes my trunk space, by no means this hits as hard as my two twelves on my Accord, but I like the bass with the JBLs and JVC head unit. No complains. The deal is, if you can afford a lil more money buy the new square Basslink II, Ebay has tons of them way cheaper than here. You get an extra 50 watts RMS and trust me, Infinity products have always been under rated in wattage. I prefer Infinity over JBL any day.
