This is a great source unit, delivers excellent audio and with its internal crossover let me run my speakers at their best performance, compared to other units of the same brand, have plenty of adjustments at the menu and the audio customization, and fisically can support bad treat and still working ( very durable unit ) it has nice graphics, but can fade with direct sunlight and its not easy to read display under this situation, overall its a good unit with nice looking and more functions that i will ever use, i have 1.5 +- years with my stereo and im still finding new features, so if you are searching for a cheap and very well performer this is for you i really recommend it. thanks.
This was a great unit and my second excelon head unit. It worked and sounded great until it stopped working. The sound would go out a buzz was all that could be heard. It was taken out for repairs and the repair shop said they found nothing wrong. It was reinstalled by the stereo shop and it still didn't work. So, I upgraded to the KDC-X969 and haven't had any problems since. I would recommend both units for their features and sound (assuming that they don't quite working). One other note, Kenwood would not replace the unit, because they said it hadn't been repaired 3 times. Luckily the stereo shop let me upgrade and pay the difference, and then dealt with Kenwood on their own.
This unit is not very intuitive, but it provides excellent sound quality. Works perfectly with Sirius satellite radio. The quality of the unit itself is average, however. The faceplate is somewhat cheaply made.
