  • Great deal for the price, and the looks are excellent. You just can't beat the price.

  • I just installed this deck and still can't believe how great it sounds. Its 110 dB signal/noise ratio is awesome. It has absolutely everything you could ask for in a stereo: MP3, WMA, 3 pre-outs, HD Radio Ready, Sirius Ready, manual fold down-detachable face plate, 3 Equalizer bands... and some that I'm forgetting. It's worth twice the price, really. The only thing I'm not totally happy with are the 2 volt pre-amp outputs. All Kenwood Excelon receivers should have at least 4 volt pre-amp outputs. Otherwise, I couldn't be more pleased with this head unit.

  • I bought this unit after trying the KDC MP 425. This unit is out of control. I has pleanty of tweaks for audiophiles and pleanty of bass for those with out the subs. The reason why is switched over to The KDC X 579 is because the MP425 did not have a good bass reflex to it. Dont get me wrong, it is a great unit but it lacks some functionality once it comes to tweaks. On the other hand the X579 looks and sounds great. I just installed it in less than 5 minutes and figured out all of the features in less than an hour. THe lows come in LOW and the Highs Come in High. I noticed no distortion in high volumes. I gave it an 8 in money value because i am a cheap as, but other than that it is a great system. I could really tell the audio difference between the mp 425 and the x579 once it came to playing mp3's. The MP425 sounded like tinnie mp3's no matter how high the bass settings were. On the other hand the x579 reproduced CD quality audio from MP3,s. They had the warmth that audio tracks should have at (192 KBPS). Over all this is one of the best unit that i have ever owned. Kudos to Kenwood.

  • I bought this 579 excelon 4 months ago... I've been surprised by the sound quality that came out of it... Plenty of options... This receiver does it all... for the cons i'd say I travel a lot and I don't use any amp... so when I've listened for more than 2 hours of high volume music I hear distorsion... I also have to say that it's difficult to use without the remote control when driving...the buttons are too small...still a very good product!!!
