looks and sound nice, but... its nota an MP3...
This head unit was a big mistake on my part. Its not that its a bad piece, but let me tell you, it doesnt have a lot of things that a good head unit should. The 2 volt preamps just dont cut it, and the sound quality is not up to par. Its important to have at least 4 volts if you plan to use an amp for the highs, that way the amp will work with less noise. Also, the cd reader skips profusely on mildly scratched cds and there are a lot of bugs in the cd intake/eject function. And forget about it if you want to read the display in sunlight. In direct sunlight the display is just purple, no information to be seen. Drive-S is all a ruse, it does nothing to prevent skipping, and it also can't read MP3's. Just take it easy on yourself and go for the competition. I am looking into getting an Alpine or another leading brand, but I would avoid this head unit. NOT FOR THE AUDIOPHILE ON A BUDGET!!!
I've had this deck alittle over a year. It's been hooked up to amps and the sound quality is good. Compaired to some Sony's around the same price range. I'd say this one sounded the best. Nice screen. Very bright at night but, can't see anything in the sunlight. This is a nice CD player. Worth buying.
