  • Have 2 of these in a 1.5cf ported box each tuned to 35hz. And I am really not that happy with them. I can not put anywhere near the RMS into these things. I found they will not take more then 300watts before you start smelling the coil starting to cook. I did get these when they first came out way back when and maybe they have fixed them. They do start to get loud when you put 600 watts each into them but they can just not take it for more then 5min. In my box they are not overly boomy and still pretty tight. These might make a good SQ set up in a sealed box with about 200w into one.

  • I have 2 of these built into separate 2.1 cu. ft. ported enclosures (2-3" Precision Ports (per enclosure) tuned to 42Hz.), with them driven by a Dayton Audio 950 watt Subwoofer Amp. Extension goes below 25Hz. with SPL's over 150db, and I have yet to run them to their full potential at home or on stage. I built the subs for my girlfreinds Live Performances (I am her Sound Engineer), and I'll put one of my 12" subs against any pre-fab PA 18" (and even most of the 21") subs made. I have had them for over a year and a half, and absolutely no issues at all. Would I recommend these? Without a doubt. In the right enclosure, these are incredible subs, just don't tune the ports below 40Hz, or they will not produce much output, and will sound flat, and muddy. I found 42Hz to be the perfect frequency IMO. Hope this helps someone out there...
