I recently installed two of these in my truck with the phoenix gold 8.01 mono block amp and I was definately happy with the results. The L.E.D lights make them look great at night too. I was limited to what i could install because of the small truck box i put them in but despite their shallowness these subs are powerful. These are much better than the PG Octane R's which i previosly had. I would definately recommend spending a few extra dollars to get these instead. If you want something that you can turn heads with going down the street i wouldn't recommend this one. The base is overpowering inside the cab but it doesn't sound all that impressive from a distance. You can hear them from outside the car but not the way you can hear W7s. These might be better for those of you who want some good base but don't want to worry about getting your system stolen. If you do buy these I would recommend the phoenix gold 8.01 mono block amp to go with them.
I've got this subwoofer hooked up to a Soundstream pushing alittle over 400 watts RMS and the sub is fine; no distortion what so ever! Phoenix Gold underrated this sub, dont be afraid to give it some juice!! Great buy, you wont be disappointed!
