Great product. Have them in the back of my Grand Am. Then hit hard and are a great deal. They come with some crappy 18 gauge speaker wire and no connecters though.
Where do I start. The highs, they are ok not audiophile grade like rockford claims but not as crappy as pioneers. It's a hard dome so it should project better than it does, it just can't reach to the front of my car (Grand Prix). Also they distort when the volume is turned up to much(over 50%). The bass is ok, a little muddy when at high volumes butif you don't want a sub then these are a good choice. on the looks factor I personaly think this picture doen't do them justice, they look alot better and shinier in real life. I've had them run off a aftermarket HU, off an amp, in the back rack, in 6x9 boxs. but I just can't get them to sound good enough to justify paying $105 for them, sorry rockford but these speakers are a disgrace to the rockford legacy.
to musicmaster your an idiot in order for you to run these you need an external amp or you will underpower them sending a cliped signal they are an exalent speaker if you mount them correctly
Underpowering speakers WONT hurt them. Clipping a signal will. Clipping is usually caused by someone who turns something up to where it distorts the SIGNAL. This occurs before signal hits the speaker. For example, if you turn your deck (lets still pretend he didnt have an amp) past its capability for clean output. then you will get distortion regardless of your speaker power rating because your overdriving the SOURCE. So when you turn the source way down. "underpowering" the speakers, then why isnt there a dangerous amount of clipping going on? Oh yeah, Because you don't know what you're talking about!
I hooked these up in my Xterra and it is a rockford fosgate headunit and all the speakers are rockford. And i know i wired it corectly and these things blew within a couple of weeks. And i know they are not being over powered. I dont think they are worth the money. I would go with a different brand or a higher quality. But Rockford does BEat!!
I put 4 of these 6x9 speakers in my Silverado crew cab. The head unit is Kenwood with clarian EQ and AMP. Used heavy gauge wire for hook up. Speakers sound great, especially on higher volumes with a little tweak of the EQ. I like to feel my music and I can definitely do that! They also put out enough great bass with no Sub-Woofer to shake all my mirrors and still great sound quality. For the price...EXCELLENT! Some other review are very negative. Maybe they need better equipment or did not install properly. Could be as simple as adjusting your Power Apm gain.
I have 2 sets of these n 2 sets 6 1/2s, n a set of 4s n my magnum n these r the best for the money by far! I'm running these off a 650.4 kicker amp for almost a year n these things r taking all I'm giving!! I've ran several other brands to find the sound I was needing n these delivered...these r great speakers by far they last if they don't u need to look at your gains n wiring these r built to last!!!
