Product Reviews For Infinity Kappa Perfect 12d VQ

  • This is a very nice subwoofer. Infinity doesn't get enough credit for their great subs and speakers. Its clean, its powerful, and for the price... a very solid deal.

  • I just purchased 2 of these and I got to agree with the rest, they hit hard and best of all they are very clear. I've owned kicker and Rockford for a long time but these infinity's sound much cleaner than the rest!!! recommended

  • Ok heres my set-up: 5" 1/4 infinity akppa components up front, 6x9 3-way kappas in the back and one of these bad boys in the trunk. this is in my 2001 Alero. amp wise i have the infinity 7541a 4-channel amp for the speakers and the 1200 watt amp for the sub. the sub amp is pushin 1300 watts rms to the sub and it takes every bit of it. the sound from this sub is amazing! put me against a jl w6 or even a w7 and the sq from the infinity qill waste it anyday PERIOD! My brother-in-law is an engineer for infinty and i've been to the labs and heard of of these bad boys in a bandpass box hit 210 dBs! i shit you not! i've seen one ina slot ported box give some one a bruise in the shape of the port when they stood in front of it! mind you this is in a controlled enviorment and while giving the sub 1300 watts rms from the 1200 watt infinity amp. use this as reference, get this sub and an amp that will give the sub at least DOUBLE RMS! this sub is rated at 400 watts but i've been told by the engineers who designed it that it can take over 1600 watts rms and not be hurt! 1600 watts! my god that is the peak for this sub! get it and be amazed!

  • I have installed a few of these at my stereo shop in NC, they are great for small sq setups, the vq option is somewhat of a sales feature than a sound feature. For small sealed enclosures these are some great subs, with rated power expect high 130db range when metering with a Term-lab.

  • Very nice sounding sub. I have just one, powered by Infinity's 611a amplifier. I did manage to blow it somehow, but they were very fast in sending me a new one, as it was under warranty. Hits low, hits hard!

  • Theses subs are only made for sound quality. They are not made for dB comps. Although i did get first place in my class 1-2 subs. I have these subs with a 2400d SPL amp. They beat hard. During the Compitition, i could smell the voice coil burning and i dont even have the amp but 1/4 way turned up. If you're looking for sound quality. KAPPA PERFECT DVQs are for you.

  • good speakers, i love mine. i have mine wired to a class d mtx 3000 watt amp. it knocks hard. dont listen to people who doesnt have a degree, the VQ option makes an extreme difference. if you want the best speaker for sound quality and loudness for YOUR pleasure. go infinity. my next system is going to be orion. these to companies are close exept orion is ALOT LOUDER. anyways for the money, infinity got my vote.

  • Ive had this sub for a year and a half. Its in a sealed encloser 1.25cf 50%polyfill with a class D MTX TA3401 400watt rms at 2ohms. I realize I need to give it more power but with just 400 watts this thing moves some air. The excursion on this sub is crazy, it plays the low notes that you cant necessarily hear as much as you feel. When I play some young jeezy my 4 door sedan shakes but you can still hear each note with clarity. If Rock is more your thing this is the best 12" sub for double bass and other kick drum notes that I have ever heard. I'll keep this sub foever but I am going to get a bigger amp. Kappa Perfect + Sealed enclosure = LOUD SQ

  • I had 2 12" in my 02 ford ranger ext, all custom built(to bad we cant put pics up this is sweet). have a lanzar 4000w pushing these, and it seems to be takin it for over 4 years now. sound real good nice clean bass all the way. these subs cant handle more then what their rated for sure.

  • I have two 12dvqs in a 1.0 sealed @ 1 ohm off a Rockford P1000-1bd monoblock. Amazing sound quality, by far the best I've heard. Best for people who value SQ and aren't looking for insane bass. These get plenty loud, but won't take more than their RMS, and actually sound best with no bass boost. Sensitivity is top notch, so they respond well and have good output even at lower volumes. I mainly listen to Rap, and like the overall SPL my Rockford Punch HX-2s deliver over the Infinity, but quick, response kick pedal Rock bass on this sub is the best I've heard by any company. Part of me just wants a little more output, and I plan to upgrade to 2- 12" JL W6s. Either way, these Perfects are the best SQ subs out there for that price, hands down.
