this sub is pretty good! i have one of these r types and also a comp vr 15 in a dual 15" box pushed by an 1800 mono amp. I had two comp vr 15's but I blew one when it was really cold out an had it turned up to loud, but i picked up this alpine a few months ago and its a good sub, it kinda sounds weird with two differnt subs because of the hz highs and lows... it hits harder than the cmp vr but it has a wierd sound an i liek the kicker better my self but this sub is good dont get me wrong!
You only need 1 !! Very loud, very clear very nice.. Have it mounted in a 3.2 cubic foot ported Bass slammer box w/alpine mrp- m850 amp. @ 800watts. highly recommended.
slapping super loud i got a insallated truck in a cadillac still got a gorilla in the truck hooker to 2000 watt hifonics amp same on this site the best system i ever had worth value for sure
Absolutely best bang for the buck. Using a ported box from gforceperformanceaudio out of NJ and this baby hits. Great sound quality, clean look, and major power. Hooked up to Alpine's MRP-1000 bridged @2ohms pushing 100watts. Hit 139.5 dB @41 Hz today with the most basic system in my car on a college budget. Did as good as many others with twice the sub/time/money put into their systems. Can't beat the price, value, and quality of Alpine products.
I have the 15inch Type-R best woofer i have had yet! Hits very hard and very clear! I have it hooked up to a Rockford 650.2 amp in the back of my 92' blazer, and my panels are falling off! THIS WOOFER IS WORTH IT!
This subwoofer hits very hard and can get loud also. Put this in a ported box and it performs amazingly. Very good deal for the price. I have it in an SUV with a Crunch 1500.1 powering it.Very good overall!
I had two or these with a hifonics 2000watt amp. sounded sweet till i blew one in two mounths! the jumpers that come with them suck. one fell out witch fried one of my voice coils. Make your own!
this sube was my first sub i ownd... very nice sub... great price... i now have l7 and i had w7 before that and obviouslly the r type cannot compete with those subbs but it is only 200 bucks.... and it sounds like it can go for 400 bucks eazy... it also is one of the clearest subbs ive heard in a sealed box.. and ive heard alot of subs..... recommend this over anything as ur first subb... but if ur looking to upgrade and want louder bass.... grab acouple... their cheap anyways.... OCS is a great site .. recommend them over anyone... i did alot of shopping with them... my current system cost me 3500 bucks and not once has OCS let me down....
for clear and crytal bass go for the alpine, turn up the volume and it is clear.. I have 1 15ich in a VW Polo Calssic sedan and it sounds fantastic. Since the alpine Bass series built back in 1994/5 this range lives up to its name. alpine keep it up. Have been using alpine componets since 1993 and loving it until now.
for 200 bucks you should get 4 of these!! i only have one and i had a kid from the other block away come find me and tell me he felt the vibes in his chest.. I only have one in a slotted box with a 500 punch amp.. im getting another one now
i have 2 of these beasts and the it hard and tight and clear gottem fueled by a hifonics 2610d brutus @ 1 ohm with a 5 farad cap and it slams ..surprisingly my lights dont dim def get these subs
It's been 10 days and onlinecarstereo still hasnt shiped out my sub. I have called customer service and was put on hold repetedly. I am unhappy with the service.
gino i did buy 4 of these and put them in a wall in a 87 s10 ext cab pick up with 2 jbl gto 1400 amps and only one 2000 amp batt i need more power to turn it up but im hittin an easy 150+ cant wait to put more to these subs the best bang for your buck
Hands down best sub for the money! Type r's are super efficient subs and can take lots of power for burps powered one of mine with a saz3500 for shows just doin burps
i bought one of these and put it in my 2009 ranger and it hits rediculously hard running on a 1050 watt jensen mono block amp... I suggest this to everybody who has the room for it...puts the fosgate p3 15 look silly
I have had this fantastic subwoofer for a year in my 2005 vw polo classic. the sound quality is perfect, however the bass lossened all the interior fittings in my car so I have decided to go a bit small now and have bought the new JL Audio WO v2 10 inch subwwofers for more incar sound.. But if you blow the watts.. go for the R15...Alpine all the way..
