Product Reviews For Soundstream SST6.9-DUPLICATE

  • This is an awsome speaker i have it hooked up to soundstream trantula amp(85X4 watt at 4 ohms). sounds amazing the high are unbelievable for a 2 way speaker plus they also have a good thump to them. the bang louder the a lot of tens i have heard. if you go with these use them all the way around i bought the 6.5 ones for the front and they couldnt handle as much power as they said. the cone seperated. plus these have alot more bass. Another neat feature is the agustable tweaters. this hlped in my rear deck since i didnt have enough room to tilt the speakers up.

  • It took 1 week before these speakers broke in.. then they started to become very smooth and warm.. the tweeter is the most softest sounding i have heard on a component set.. the low mids and hi mids are very acurate and no matter how loud i play them they don't distort.. soundstream has done their homework.. these are great sounding speakers.. i am a very satisfied customer.. buy these with complete confidence...

  • This is probably one of the highest quality 6x9s on the market. Highs are incredible (not tinny at all). Midrange is unbelievable (best midrange I heard from a 6x9). Bass is very solid, deep, and LOUD! If you are looking for a 6x9 with supreme sound quality and power, I would suggest you would try these out. I hear some people say they don't like soundstream 6x9s because they don't sound the best, but as you can see all those people have the xstream soundstream 6x9s, not the ss tarantulas. The tarantulas series are way better than the xstream series. Don't get the xts6.9, get the sst6.9.

  • These are the best 6x9s I've ever hear.highs, mids and bass all in one speaker,a home run soundstream.Have 5 of these in my '76 Chevy Impala(dash, doors and rear deck)and cross them at 50HZ using 18 octave slope filers and 5 Di175.1 Monoblock class D amps can't believe how they sound in a 5.1 surround sound system.get these speakers if you are setting up such a system and you can't go miss.

  • Some of the cleanest sounding 6x9's i've ever heard even at full volume on my h/u no distortion. Ordered mine on ebay for 92.00 but they're worth 109.

  • Anyone that does their research will find that these ARE the most powerful and crisp clear speaker on the market! i paid $199 AUS for them and i can tell you that with a decent amp (which these need!) these speakers will hurt your ears but you must run them in! Like i said absolute best you can get and id like to see someone prove me wrong! TARANTULA!

  • Simply put, these are fantastic! My car takes 6x9's in the front doors, so I installed them there and it's like the bass in is in the front of the car with me. My car came with a Boston Acoustics premium sound system, but the SST's put them to shame. The magnets are big - I had to remove the rubber magnet surrounds to get them to fit, but once in the door panels they handled full power from the factory Boston amp without distortion. Once they were broken in, these speakers made my front stage incredible! I will put another pair of these in the rear deck at this price, these outperform my old Infinitys and the Bostons that came with the car. If you have enough space for these to fit, GET THEM!

  • Ok, I bought a second pair for the rear deck and installed them this week. All I can say is WOW. These play loud and clear, and I am hearing details in my music that I have never heard before. If you are a basshead you will add a subwoofer to these anyway, but the average listener will find there is more than enough clean bass here if you're running 75-100W RMS to these speakers. The clarity is amazing, the bass response is fantastic, and Soundstream Tarantulas do not disappoint. If you own a Chrysler and were thinking about upgrading to the Kicker system, save some $$$ and check these out first!

  • I got a pair of these installed in my car back in '08. I often get asked if I have a 10 in the trunk. I just tell them that it's just these pair of 6x9's. I would recommend these speakers to anyone that wants a good bass sound, but don't want to get a sub. The highs are good from these soundstreams as well.
