These are very nice component speakers for the price. It is indeed better than running a 2/3-way coaxial system. The sound field is much better when the highs are seperated. Like most aftermarket speakers, they should be run with an aftermarket amp, and not the deck powering them. I was feeding 50watts rms to these and they sounded great. The amp is a cheap roadmaster vr4 amp as well, cheap with cheap but it does the job. I have surprised a lot of people. Remember it is not the product that is crap, it is the installation. The midbass produces good bass, and the highs of the tweeters are just right. The reason I didn't give it a perfect 2 is the crossover design. More expensive units have an option for higher db on the highs, this does not, but its no big deal. For the price it's hard to complain, esp. after hearing them.
