  • I got two of these with the Boss 5000w amp and they are loud. I have to turn the amp down cause my car can't take the beatin. Even with the amp maxed out these subs scream for more, they are insane. Sweet subs Sweet price.

  • This sub is a mixed bag for me. I have one in a sealed enclosure built to spec @ 1.8 cubic ft. The mixed bag part is this: sometimes it sounds awesome,, playing Biggie or Lil Wayne songs. At times my 1 12" sounds like 2 12"s! However, it seems to sound weak when playing higher bass tones, in the 80 - 100hz range. It also lacks on some low tones too. It seems to distort right when you think its gonna knock your socks off, forcing you to turn it down a little or risk blowing the sub. It also has trouble with fast transitions, as in the sub is not all that 'quick'. I mean, this thing is built like its preparing for a 9.5 earthquake, but it doesnt live up to its appearance. Honestly, I think Boss Audio overrated this sub quite a bit. When you factor in the price, I would say its pretty good for your money, but I would rate it with other 500 watt RMS subs, not 1000 watt subs. I feel that Boss just tried to hit the market with a product that looks powerful, but performs in the class below the one its supposed to be in. I could see, however, that if you had 2 or 4 of these and gave em 400 - 500 watts each, you could have yourself a budget system that slams. In Conclusion - A powerful sub, to a point. You have to treat this sub like a 500 watts sub.
