I had this in my 02 Impala. replaced all the door speakers with Pioneer 3 ways. 2 in front 2 in back. and only because I got a deal on here with some tweeters I put some in the doors. with this Alpine you can adjust just about everything without the need of a Amp, and a portable EQ. had my whole system crystal clear. then once I hooked up my 1000 wat 15's and the 1200wat amp. the Bass hit and the best part you could hear every word in the song. GET THIS!

A fantastic unit packed full of features. I replaced the factory unit in my car, which was a great to unit to begin with, but with this one, the highs are clearer and the lows rumble.

Amazing player and I haven't even figured out all the features yet! I have already noticed much clearer sound and more accurate and better sounded base from the unit. I came from a Kenwood Excelon and this Alpine CDA-117 is much better and much higher quality than the Kenwood. I had never owned a Kenwood and I will most likely not purchase one again due to the dislike of the player and that the front usb quit working and I couldn't use my ipod. This Alpine however looks awesome and I have no wires hanging down in front of the player. The ipod menu and controls are easier than the kenwood and are just easy to use all around. The screen on the cda-117 looks really good and only helps with navigating through the player and ipod menu. I have only had the unit installed for a couple of days but so far it is my favorite player I have ever owned. It has very clear audio(I do not have imprint installed), very easy ipod controls and navigation, and looks great. I would definitely recommend this player without a doubt and I will be buying alpine players from here on out.

I´ve had this headunit for 10 days now and I am very pleased. Sound quality is extremely good but it took my a little while too tweak the parametric equalizer. I would have liked to see a loudness function because the media expander is a bit "strange" for my tast (boosts up the midrance and the low end with a lot of distortion - if set high). I dont have an ipod but I use the usb connection for usb sticks and that is the only part I´m really disapointed with. The banking feature is slow and in my opinion useless. I had a Alpine CDA 105 and the usb connection (though much simpler) worked perfectly. But overall a great sounding unit with minor flaws that are maybe a matter of taste. Higly recommended, you will get nothing that even compares to the sound quality in this one from other brands in this pricerange and that is not a matter of opinion or taste. Thank you.

I purchased the CDA-117 to replace my Alpine 9856 and it is a sweet head unit.I was able to use the same main wire harness from my 9856 also so install was very simple. Nice upgrade in ipod info and 4v pre-out are much better than my older unit and much more user friendly.Thanks online car stereo for the nice price and fast shipping too.

I purchased the Alpine CDA-117 to replace an Alpine CDA-9884. I am extremely pleased with the sound improvement and the added features I now have. The sound quality is exceptional. The operation compares closely with the 9884 so I had a fairly easy time tuning it in. I would highly reccomend this head unit to anyone looking for quality sound at a reasonable price. On line car stereo had the best price I could find and the overall experiance with the site was great.

The Alpine CDA-117 will be a classic in years to come. The sound quality is top notch with the 24 bit Burr Brown DSP on the radio, CD and now IPOD which puts this unit ahead of its class. The IPOD controls are top notch because to find songs, artists or albums, there is either the percentage search and now alphabet search which makes searching much much easier. The looks are top notch. This unit has the built in 7 band graphic equalizer or 6 band parametric equalizer. YOU DO NOT NEED IMPRINT TO USE THESE FEATURES. The RCA voltage is 4 volts. Everything that you expect from a top quality SQ unit is what the CDA-117 has and then some. I swapped out both of my CDA 9886 radios for 2 CDA-117 radios and I can hear an immediate difference. Buy this unit and you will not be dissappointed.
