The Good: Navi is great. Much better than the Kenwood 712 and Ipod cable is standard. The Bad: Does not come with remote so you must buy one seperate. Found it a little difficult to pre program my Sirius channels in the favorites.
Purchased this product online so I wasnt really sure of what I would be getting except for reviews Ive read from other people and Alpines Marketing - yeah, not a good / strong foot to start off on. Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised. The reason why I rated 7 for features is the lack of internal Bluetooth integration (purchased BT400 - yet to install and test) as wellas the remote! For the price, I would think those two neccessary items should be included! .. which explains my 7 for "Money Value". The other thing about the features it lacks is the HDD support. I think Alpine couldve maybe included at 30gig HDD or custom wallpapers, maybe maps for other contries besides USA ? The cost for getting the remote, map updates and bluetooth makes it more expensive than other better DD units out there? The sound quality is great. Im happy it includes the 24bit burr-brown like my X100 has...and Imprint ready makes it great as well. How about goig back to your roots and throwing in a dual 24 bit burr-brown Alpine? The 7909 is sorely missed. Overall, the unit stands out. It has a unique shape and looks good in a dash. The features are good, sound quality great and overall a very pleasing multi media unit. Ipod controls are very intuitive as well.
